Great for your family or your company's Retreat/meeting. This lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom Hilo home will pleasantly surprise you. Its beautiful 8 ft Teak dining table greets you upon entering this lovingly refinished plantation home. Perfect for dinners or meetings. Large kitchen with microwave, full range and refrigerator and mahogany counter tops. It is equipped down to the spices, dinnerware and cutlery. The adjoining living area has a 42 inch TV, free wifi, Cable TV, and DVD player. Master Bedroom and 2nd and 3rd bedrooms all have new queen size beds with linens and towels provided. Laundry facilities available on premises. Besides being located in a quiet neighborhood, the lower floor of this 2 story home is a separate living space and therefore we require our guests to be considerate of our neighbors after hours. Off street parking. There are also fruit trees and vegetables on large property.
Fond memories of Hilo keep bringing us back! When the opportunity came to purchase this property, we decided in about 30 seconds! We love coming here and want to share this home with others to enjoy when we can't be here.
Susan Lee and Jack Shaff purchased this house in 2011
We love Hilo and this quiet neigborhood and the neighbors, people, music, food and caring spirit of Aloha!
This beautifully refinished old plantation home's front porch offers ocean views and the warm breezes that circulate throughout the home. Lovely varnished hard wood floors throughout and nice color schemes in bedrooms offer a variety of moods.
This Home has everything you need, has lots of room, large Fridge and adequate kitchen. Great location in the center of Hilo Town. Host below is very sweet and informative.
For just two people, this house is extremely roomy. We are even thinking about bringing the rest of the family since there is plenty of space. Very close to downtown, a little view of the ocean and good breezes to cool down with. The kitchen is spacious and easy to use. The property manager, Bobbye, was very informative and pleasant. We definitely will return to this rental.
Great hospitality. With the six VRBO properties we stated in HI, this is the only one we received any hospitality. Bobbi, the owner's rep, lives downstairs. She is friendly and helpful.
This place is roomy and it is central to all attractions in east and south easy Bid Island (PUNA area). It is only a mile away from Hilo downtown but it is very quiet up the hill. The kitchen is very well equipped.
We enjoyed our whole stay in Hilo thanks to our living situation. This well-maintained and clean home is situated in a perfect location to access the town. The house layout and amenities were perfect for us (two couples and a pair of teens who shared a room). The owner answered all my questions prior to our arrival. Bobby, the house manager, was ready to greet us and provided us with important house info. I definitely recommend this home for your island experience!
We stayed here as a convenient location to explore volcano national part (45 mins away) and the Puna coastline. Wonderfully stocked kitchen made preparing meals for family (with toddler) a breeze. Open layout in a quiet area. Shona was very accommodating and helpful.
This home boasts great views and a convenient location to downtown Hilo and the world's best farmer's market (in my opinion). While the walk to the farmer's market isn't very far--perhaps a mile--be aware that one the way back it's a steady climb as Hilo is on the edge of the slowly sloping Mauna Kea. The house is a duplex with Bobbye who lives downstairs and looks after the place for the owners. She's fantastic. The house is nicely furnished and can comfortably sleep 6 people in beds or more on futons. The cool breeze comes through the many windows and so AC is not necessary. In the evenings it did cool down quite considerably so the down comforters came in handy. There is a nice yard with many fruit trees and veggies. Oranges were in season while we were there which meant fresh-squeezed OJ daily!
It was also nice to have a washer and dryer, but if you're lucky, you can use the clothesline in the backyard for fresh air drying! There's also a clothesline in the basement of the home for when it rains. The home has solar panels and so using the dryer isn't as bad for those that are green-concious.
All in all, a nice place to stay! Thanks again for the fantastic place to stay while visiting Hilo and the Big Island.
Quiet residential area right in Hilo. Ten minute walk to Rainbow Falls. Mountain and ocean peek-a-boo views, 3 minute drive down to Historic downtown Hilo and its restored Palace theatre, where both live performances and quality movies are shown. Enjoy wonderful food in a variety of restaurants. Visit the Library, Richardson's Beach, Hilo Farmers Market, Maritime museum, Tsunami museum, Lyman museum, and beautiful Liliuokalani gardens fronting the Bay. Minutes from University of Hawaii-Hilo and Imiloa Observatory. National park is just 30 minutes away. Surf beach 4 miles north of Hilo. Snorkeling and swimming at popular Richardson's beach right here in Hilo. There are also numerous tidal pools and ponds encircled in black lava rock.
