I love renovating Victorian townhouses and turning them into contemporary residences for today's living standards.
Maria L. Haber purchased this townhome in 1974
Less than two miles from the White House and within walking distance to most of the things I like to do in the city.
For 2 couples, Mary's place is perfect! It convenient to transportation, restaurants and shopping. The terrace is perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The perfect place for active adults.
we have stayed here twice, and will stay here next time we go to DC. Incredible rental ,with a great owner, and customer service team. Clean, beautiful, and convenient. The only people I would not direct to this place would be people that can't manage stairs. 3 1/2 flights to get to the top floor.
We stayed at this very well appointed townhouse in Mar/April and thoroughly enjoyed our time there! The location can't be beat and is walking distance to many stores, restaurants and sites. The townhouse is ideal for two couples as the bedrooms/ensuite bathrooms are separated by two floors so are very private and you can't hear if someone gets up earlier. Maria has decorated her place in colourful art from all of her travels and the place is the most spotless rental we have ever experienced. The two decks are amazing but it was only warm enough the last day to use them. Restaurants we loved that are walking distance from the townhouse are Lupo Verde (Adams Morgan) and Rosemary's Thyme Bistro just down the street....make sure to make reservations though as restaurants were busy even on Monday nights. Be sure to check out some of the sites like Dumbarton Oaks that aren't as touristy in Georgetown Heights and then make your way to Patisserie Poupon on Wisconsin for the best java and quiche we had.....we loved Georgetown and Old Town Alexandria.....and don't miss the Apothecary Museum there....it was worth the trip. Glad we stayed in this Townhouse for our first trip to DC....Maria, Bill and Dina all got back to us immediately whenever we had any questions prior to our trip.....stay here if you want a 5 Star Experience!
This was my first trip to DC in 30 years. We traveled as a family of 5. Two adults and 3 kids ages 8-11. There was plenty of room to spread out. Lots of great open space and plenty of sunlight. The deck was beautiful, although we didn't use it much due to the weather. Lots of great shops/restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk including a nice mexican restaurant directly across the street. Very quiet. Can see the Washington monument from the front windows! About a 5-7 minute easy walk to the Dupont Metro station with several local cafes/bakeries to stop in along the way to get your morning coffee. Neighborhood appears very safe. The owner was very pleasant and easy to work with. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend this place.
We routinely travel to Washington DC to visit our daughter. My wife was nearing the end of her treatment for Lymphoma and was interested in more privacy than we have at a nearby hotel. This property is as advertised; outstanding accomodations, engaged management and proximity to the best DC has to offer. Well appointed and the outdoor balcony was the perfect place to relax at the end of a busy day. I would recommend this property without reservation.
This house will meet all your expectations! We stayed here for two months (Jan-Feb 15') and could not be more happy. The description and pictures are very accurate. There is plenty of light with floor to ceiling windows in most rooms. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you need. We really appreciated the gas fireplace in the living room during the cold months. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use the amazing two-floor terrace as it has been covered in snow during our stay, but we can ensure future guests they won't be disappointed. Mary is a wonderful person, who has gone out of her way to make sure our stay has been pleasant (she even shipped us a box of juicy oranges from Florida when we were feeling down about the weather!). But what we have appreciated the most, is it's prime location. The house is located on a quiet street, but at the same time you will find everything you need within walking distance (restaurants, shops, bars, the Metro). We can truly recommend renting Mary's house.
