Great weekend getaway for Banff and the downhill

  • 5 of 5

My family and I recently stayed here with friends for the Banff Mountain Film Festival and mountain biking, and we loved it. The inside is very cozy and clean and there is a partially covered deck in the front which overlooks town and parts of the river. There is plenty of parking (partially covered), and it is a short 2 minute walk to town. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Downieville

  • 4 of 5

We had 4 couples 3 bedrooms and a trundle bed in the living room. It was roomy and very clean and right in town so we walked everywhere we needed to go. We all would stay there again.

Great End of Summer Get-away

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with my family and friends! We had a wonderful time! I loved the movie library and the bed was so comfortable, and everything we could ever need was available for cooking in the kitchen! Very warm and inviting and the view of town was really great! We saw a lot of wildlife, we took a couple of walks through town and up to the old graveyard, had a drink at the town saloon and went swimming and gold panning in the beautiful clean Yuba River! One of our best trips yet to the beautiful town of Downieville!

Great family week in the Gold Country In the Bear Run Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The Bear Run cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing week in the Gold Country/Sierra Buttes area. The kitchen was modern and fully equipped for making all our meals. The washer and dryer were a nice convenience to clean our biking and hiking clothes after each action-packed day. We could hear the soothing sound of the river while reading and unwinding on the front porch. It was very quiet each night. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean with plenty of soft, fluffy towels. Downtown Downieville was a pleasant and short walk from the cabin and all of the locals we met were so friendly and willing to share their favorite hiking, biking trails and swimming holes. The Yuba Expedition Bike Shop folks were very helpful fixing our bike before a big race. The Downieville Day Spa was a great place to get a retreat facial and be pampered. The Kentucky Mine and Museum just past Sierra City had a fantastic tour of the mine and a working stamp mill. The Downieville Museum in town was full of artifacts tht

At made the history of this area come alive. The cabin's carport was spacious and we appreciated the outside hose to clean our bikes. It was a hot week in Downieville and the cabin's air-conditioning was wonderful to cool us down at night. Debbie was great and gave us everything we needed to feel at home. We had a positive experience renting this cabin. We would recommend the Bear Run cabin to our friends and would stay again if in the Sierra Buttes area!

Best Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Bear Run Cabin the last weekend in April 2014 for a wedding. Debbie and Brad are the best! The cabin was clean, updated and filled with everything you would need for a comfortable home away from home. It is located on top of hill with beautiful views of the river below along with the town of Downieville. The cabin had movies and even books for a quiet evening or a leisurely time on the front porch. If you staying anywhere near Downieville-I 100% recommend Bear Run Cabin. Of all the places everyone stayed this Cabin was far above the rest. Debbie and Brad could not have been kinder or easier to work with for renting the cabin. Thank you Debbie and Brad--the Wedding and the weekend were the best ever!! Hope to be visiting Bear Run in the very near future. : )))
