Visit scenic, serene Maalaea Village and stay in our privately owned oceanfront condominium at Kana'i A Nalu. You will enjoy our spacious, fully furnished two bedroom condo with two full baths. It is located on the second floor of a four story complex.

A full kitchen is provided for you, if you choose to dine in, with grocery shopping in nearby Kihei. If dining out is more your style there are excellent restaurants with gorgeous views just a few minutes walk down Haouli Street toward the Harbor. We have a comfy queen-size bed in the master bedroom which has its own private, newly remodeled bath. In the guest bedroom we have two extra long twins that convert to a king. Beach towels are available for your use as well.

The view from your private lanai encompasses Maalaea Bay, Molokini Crater, the Island of Lanai, and humpback whales in the 'winter' months. From your doorstep you can walk, swim, snorkel on the white sands of Sugar Beach, the longest beach on the island. Minutes from your unit is the Maui Ocean Center, rated Maui's #1 tourist attraction. It is a top rate aquarium that you and your family will enjoy. No Smoking and No Pets.

We fell in love with Kanai A' Nalu because of its location. It is central to the island and just minutes away from anything you want, yet uniquely sited on a quiet, dead-end street in a small community. The condo gardens are immaculately maintained with beautiful flowers and trees. A short walk down the street is Maalaea Harbor, home to snorkle cruises, whale watching charters, fishing boats, and our favorite restaurant, Buzz's Wharf (our favorite entree: the prawns; our favorite desert: the mango creme brulee).

Maalaea is also home to the Maui Ocean Center, filled with exotic reef fish, sea turtles, jelly fish, and sharks! We go to the Ocean Center every time we visit the island.

Humpback whales migrate to Maalaea Bay in the winter (November through March) and we often watch them right from the lanai.

What makes this condo unique

Step out the door in the morning, walk barefoot on Maui's longest beach and watch the sun rise over Mt. Haleakala. Feel the sand between your toes as the ocean waves break gently on the beach. Watch the ocean for whales and sea turtles, or look just inland of the beach dunes for endangered Hawaiian stilts and other beautiful bird species on the Kealia Ponds National Wildlife Refuge.

Then retreat to the lanai for a breakfast of locally grown papaya or mango and a cup of fresh Kona coffee. There is nothing else in the world so serene and relaxing.

We had the opportunity to get away for a week and fortunately this unit was available at that time. We thoroughly enjoy the location and the combination of kitchen and outdoor grills allowed us to just stay and relax without having to go to restaurants. The water was great and we saw numerous sea turtles while walking the beach. Groceries can be bought at Whole Foods or Safeway before leaving Kahalui (airport), or down the road in Kehei or Lahaina. There is one nearby restaurant but we kept it simple and took care of ourselves. Having a washer and dryer available was a big help. Can't wait until we can come back for a longer stay. The property manager is extremely helpful and willing to assist with needs that arise or provide guidance and also ensures the unit is spotless upon arrival.

Maui paradise

Another 3 weeks on Maui has come to an end. This is such a great place to spend time relaxing, walking on Sugar Beach, eating fantastic food, (fish tacos at Coconuts). No wonder I call it my "happy place".

Everything I needed

We had a lovely holiday in this home. Many times I gave been to Maui ,but never stayed in Maalaea. I personally love waking up in the morning and eating a light breakfast in our well equipped kitchen, good knives and pans, then heading out to sugar beach for a good two hour walk. The beach was quite level and easy to walk along. Very important for my father who by the end of our stay commented how he had just realized this was the most pain free walking !(has heel and leg problems ) I agreed it was an ideal beach for those who love to walk! Everyone we met, greeted us and the locals loved to chat at times.
We did have two 20 something's with us, a bit quiet for them in regards to shops and restaurants, but the beach was good and the pool. They shared - a room with twin beds and occasionally one crashed on the comfy sofa. Great to have then in their own space and very nice bathroom.

They rented scooters and were able to drive to kihei and paia easily.

The condo was perhaps more simple and less luxurious than other places I have stayed for twice the price, but I would return as it met all my needs and was super clean. The location was ideal for anyone who besides loved walking on beaches, loves to explore Maui. Easily 20 minutes off any drive north or south or west.

The reason we chose Malaea was its central location and remarkBly lower rents for equal value of units.
We booked this specific unit based on price and location and also the very prompt and helpful response from Stephanie at Igomaui.com.

All affairs were handled professionally and to my liking.

Only wish I had was a king bed in master also there was no safe? Not sure that is normal as it is not a hotel type property. At no time do we feel unsafe and it appeared that there were some long term residents who kept a watch on people and homes. ( one neighbour followed me to my car as I had left the door and windows open. He was concerned I was too comfortable and had not secured the condo. But one son had chosen to stay home that day, so all was good. Great to know there are good neighbours. Next time I am bringing my husband too and I bet we may buy a unit!

One last advice. Stay in Maleaea condo, when you head out for. The day. Look around and at the sky and then make your plans. We never saw the rain!

Another point. We sat on the patio at all times of the day. great views and comfort. As much as one likes to sit in sun, it can be too hot.

Excellent Location

We stayed during November and the weather was fantastic. The location of this condo is perfect as it is central to all. We were close to the harbor where many excursions depart. There were a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance. The activity of Kihei just a short drive away. The condo was clean, comfortable and came with many extras for the beach. Not to mention the condo is right on the beach. We had a great time. Will come again.

Great, central location

This is a great condo with an amazing location. The condo comes with a full kitchen and is in a condo community with a pool, outdoor BBQ area and is right on Sugar beach. The condo is clean and well maintained with air-conditioning and full cable. They even have a crib and some extra snorkel gear for guests. Every morning we would stroll on sugar beach and watch the sun rise over Mt. Haleakala. We walked out of the condo many days and just went snorkeling off the shore. One person saw a whale off the lanai but unfortunately we were a little early in the season and missed them.

The location is great as there are fishing, sightseeing and other boat charters within walking distance at Maalaea Harbor. We also walked over to Maalaea Harbor for the aquarium where we had a great time watching them feed the Tiger Sharks. The location was also very central for day hiking excursion on West Maui, hikes up Mt. Haleakala, shopping trips to Lahaina, etc. We loved our stay and only could have made it better by making it longer.
