But you will want to spend most of your time outside entertaining around the pool and enjoying the wonderful views and the beautiful Arizona weather.
I am a busy professional that has traveled a lot and have always enjoyed the intimacy of a private home when vacationing. I live in the area and am available to help with anything and at any time.
Lynor Johnson purchased this house in 2012
I love this property not only because it is so close to everything I enjoy doing, but it is on a great lot with easy access. I love to entertain guests and my home is always full. I try to make vacationing a pleasurable experience for all and the features in my home reflect that lifestyle. I have traveled quite a bit for business and continued to find myself back in Arizona. The people in this community are so friendly and the sun is always shining! I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I do!
People who rent from VRBO rely on the property description & on other reviewers. This review contains a lie that made our stay miserable. It says there is a king-sized bed in the master. It is a queen & it was a queen when the real estate agent put this on VRBO. The wood frame in the photo is a fixed queen frame, so it is not an error. It is dishonesty. When we arrived, the agent said we could go into the front BR, push 2 twin beds together & sleep there. We paid for a master with a king, not a small secondary BR, from which one can hear all road noise from the busy street. The house is for sale, so renting this property out appears to be just stop-gap until the house can be sold, if ever. There is one TV, but I did not know cable service that basic existed. There are no instructions for it. Other than the bed (& cable), if the house were in a different location, it would not be that bad in spite of being older. It is not near anything. It is 45 minutes to Surprise. We could not find good restaurants anywhere close to this property. The house is on the corner of a busy street. You can hear every car go by on 24th street. It ruins sitting in the yard to relax -- along with the kids on the trampoline a few feet on the other side of the back fence. I read the reviews in early January & the agent said they hoped to clear out the garage. Don't plan on it. It was still inaccessible 2 months later, which meant hauling luggage, food, etc from the driveway through the front door & worrying about the car in the driveway. I saw that someone had mentioned the busy street & the agent had said it wasn't. I think the agent needs to try sleeping in one of the 2 front BR's or relaxing in the back yard. The experience has made me leery of renting from VRBO & I have loved using this site for more than 20 years. I have never come across anything like this before. If I ever see again that the property is for sale, I will not even consider it, because it is not a long-term thing for the people posting it. I would also recommend to the agent that you may want to get covers for the outlets that don't have any (under the front window in the LR & under the kitchen sink where the dishwasher was unplugged).
This is an older home with some remodeling and in fair condition. Lots of space, comfortable beds, great floor plan, nice deck/pool area, well-equipped kitchen, plenty of towels and bedding, and a great location all made for a very pleasant stay. Internet was slow, but we managed. My only complaint is that the shear curtains on the front bedroom windows were not adequate.
Stayed here over a weekend when we were in town to visit with our kids who attend ASU. The house floor plan is great, with bedrooms being away from the living / family rooms. House has been remodeled recently. Cabinets are old, but floor tiles, carpet, paint, counters all in great shape. The backyard is really nice, with palm trees, seating, bbq, pool. Very relaxing. Kitchen has mostly just the essentials (dishes, glasses, flatware, basic pots and pans, coffee pot). Still, I was able to cook every meal, including some baking. An added bonus was the nearby hiking trail up the "mountain" (sorry, I'm from CO so can't really think of it as a real mountain!) which gave a great view of the city. The main drawbacks were limited TV channels, slow internet (didn't bother me but the kids complained) and a full size (floor to ceiling, almost) clear window in the shower of the master bathroom. That was a bit unnerving for me, but unless someone walked around the corner of the house from the backyard or peeked over the 6' wall you were safe! Plus, once you turned the hot water on it steamed over, but still, it was a new experience for me. Overall a good experience.
We once again enjoyed our stay in this house by the hills. We were hiking and walking the great neighborhood everyday. We had a problem with the dishwasher but owner was responsive. It was too cold for the pool but we loved hanging out on the deck. Great value for the price. Would stay here again.
My wife, two labs, and I stayed here on our trip to attend the Fiesta Bowl. The house is spacious, well maintained and nicely located. The back yard has a 6 foot block wall and provides great security for dogs. There is a pool and a nice mountain view. I would stay here again. The only drawback was the limited cable TV options (no ESPN or premiums).
Great location in Central Phoenix at the base of North Mountain Reserve. Walking distance to large park. Hiking trails. Minutes to Paradise Valley Mall and several wonderful restaurants. Scottsdale golfing, shops and nightlife are just minutes away. Perfect central location with easy access to the Freeway.
