Favorite moments seeing 3 bears up close!!! Fun times relaxing in the hot tub, exploring. We loved staying at Lynn's Lookout and the views -- amazing to watch the sunrise and sunset and storms. This is one of the cleanest cabins we have ever stayed in! Thanks.
I was very nervous as this was the first time I have booked a cabin. Sending the deposit and payments via mail was a little different by Lynn was nothing but easy to work with and would email me the minute she received it. Getting to the cabin is a little scary. There are steep hills and curves but you need to climb the mountain to get the views. The cabin was clean and just as the photos showed. The views are absolutely beautiful. Everything you need is there-washer/dryer, cooking supplies and even soap! I was nervous taking two children with us but they had a blast playing pool and using the hot tub. Everything was in working order. There are cabins above and below you but they are far enough away that you aren't on top of one another. You can still enjoy your privacy. 10-15 minute drive to town from the cabin. I recommend Lynn's Lookout to anyone wanting a terrific view at a reasonable price.
Nice little cabin nestled in the mountains about 15 mins away from Pigeon Forged. The drive up the hill to the cabin everyone has talked about in previous reviews didn't seem nearly as bad to us. We were in a 4 cyclinder car. Yes my gas peddle was pressed all the way to the floor but again it didn't seem bad or scary. Beware of the tree when backing out of the driveway though. I came very close to hitting it. If you like firm beds then you'll like sleeping here. AND if your an early morning riser. The bed is facing east where there is a full wall of windows for the bright sun to start peeping in at about 8am. The pool table is in a tiny room that makes it very hard to play pool period.... Which was more frustrating than enjoyable. Hot tub was nice and clean and very warm!! Make sure to turn the hot tub on as soon as you get there so that it has time to warm up. We weren't able to enjoy it the first night we were there because we didn't turn it on the start warming up until that night. And apparently it takes more than a couple of hours to warm up. The views are beautiful though and Ms. Lynn was able to be reached and replied quickly to emails. This is a great little get away.
The view is simply gorgeous! However, There are a few things you need to know before staying here. You have to pay with a check in the mail.. which is unconventional especially on this website that usually allows online bookings. We booked this cabin for 6 nights, but only stayed 4 because the road is extremely steep and the weather was calling for heavy rain and we were afraid our (non-4 wheel drive) truck would spin out. So a 4x4, in our opinion, is recommended. Also, the pool cues were crooked which made playing a joke. There are 3 TV's in the home, however only the main one (which is a very small older style) in the living room is usable. This is because the upstairs bedroom one has a playstation that doesn't work and no cable. The tv in the spare bedroom has cable, but is black and white. The main issue wasn't until we got home and the owner of the cabin called us and asked about her "personal closet" with an accusatory tone. This closet, which was completely open when we arrived, is labelled as private so we simply closed the door and never opened it again. After 2 phone calls and lots of back pedaling on the owners part, she hung up on my husband. We were just trying to let her know that we had nothing to do with the closet being unlocked. She still insisted that "someone must have learned how to pick a deadbolt". So wonky and weird! Never in my life have I encountered something like this. We did enjoy our stay for the most part, however, we wouldn't stay again just based on our overall experience from booking to returning home.
Sorry for the late review! My husband and I stayed at this cabin during our annivesary week vacation in May 2014. We had a wonderful time! The views from the cabin were amazing. We it to be very clean and well maintained. It was very clean, there were lots of nice small appliances (we brought our crockpot for no good reason), plenty of dishes, silverware, pots, pans & paper goods. The hot tub temperature was easily adjustable, and we didn't have any problems with water pressure or temperature inside the cabin.
Only real "complaint" is the lack of an HDTV, but we knew that going in. Adding a flat screen HDTV would make this a real winner. As it stands, we'll probably stay again in 2015!
cabin is in a very quiet place to stay away from the crowds. The view is great, owner is very nice to deal with. The road up to the cabin is fairly steep but we got acquainted with it after a couple of times up & down just keep your speed up while going up seemed to help us.
Yes I stayed back in Feb. The owner didn't want to hear anything bad about the place. It was filthy. If I am going to stay in a place and pay for it, I would think it would have been vacuumed at swept and that someone would wash the dishes. The linens weren't even clean. The couch, we were scared to sit on it b/c of the "white" stains and animal hair on it. The hot tub never worked, she said she was going to send someone out, but they never did. I asked for my money back after the first day, and she wouldn't do it. She wouldn't even respond to my calls or emails. She is a very rude person, once you tell her something negative about the place. Oh yes, she has an excuse for everything. Her excuse to me was she got new "young kids" to clean her place. She didn't believe that it was dirty, and she sent her old cleaning lady, and that lady apologized and gave us her number for the next time we come there to call her and she will find us a better place. Pretty sad actually...
We now have a ferris wheel at Stoplight 3 which you can view from Lynn's Lookout deck.
