Our property is situated in the scenic village of Cowichan Bay, less than a ten minute pastoral stroll to the water. Our home is surrounded by beautiful, private gardens which can provide the perfect spot for a summer breakfast, or a barbecue later on in the day. Truly idyllic, the garden is filled with flowers, butterflies, bees and birds in season. At night, skies overhead are filled with stars, as our street is a dark sky preserve.
Our brand new guest suites are situated on the first level of our home. Each suite has its own ground level entrance and complete privacy. Each is bright with natural light. We have put considerable effort into creating beautiful surroundings, both inside and out. Our full front suite, Ocean Dreams, is stunningly finished in pale blues and light natural wood tones. The living room features beautifully accented cozy furniture, as well as a brand new 46' HDTV with full cable access, and Wifi. The sparkling kitchenette with breakfast bar has been custom crafted for the space, and contains a microwave, a Brevel convection/toaster oven, 'Verismo' coffee maker, full size dishwasher and beautiful dishes. The bedroom offers amazing comfort, with its featherbed-topped queen mattress and top quality linens. Daylight makeup area and full laundry are found in the walk through closet, outside of the delightful 4 piece bathroom. Original art is featured throughout. Luxury and details make the difference.
We are offering a second suite for up to two other travellers in your party. Our 'Memories of Paris' bed sitting suite is large and bright, featuring beautiful fabrics and top quality linens, which complement the fresh colours on the walls and painted furniture. This room strikes the perfect balance between modern luxury and vintage chic. Sumptuous queen mattress and down featherbed are framed by a beautiful upholstered headboard. Brand new 46' HDTV has full cable access, and Wifi is provided, along with complimentary N.A. phone calls. Off this room, you'll find a small kitchenette, (mini fridge and microwave) and a glass shower in one area, while sink and toilet are positioned separately. Prepare a pot of tea or use a French press (what else?) to make delicious coffee to go along with some of the complimentary treats we provide.
Making Our Dream Come True
After spending a career's worth of years, slogging through traffic on the lower mainland of B.C. (Bev, as an elementary school teacher, and James as an aviation technician), we realized a long cherished dream when we moved to Vancouver Island in the summer of 2012. As children, we had each summered here regularly, and later, had come several times a year, to visit friends and to find that perfect spot, where we could imagine ourselves living and operating a small 'inn' when we were finally free to make that choice. When we finally found the perfect spot, we made our move, and we quite literally have not looked back.
To our guests, whether you are staying for a week, coming and going independently, and longing for peace and quiet, or are taking advantage of a more hands-on level of service, our goal is that you are comfortable and cared for throughout. We have tried to anticipate your every need, but please feel free to ask. We hope our place will be a special one for you to return to.
At Seasons Above the Bay, though you are completely independent in your suite, you have the advantage of on-site owners who will ensure that your stay here is perfect. Whether surprising you with treats, or making recommendations for the perfect dinner spot or day tour, we will do our best for you.
Cowichan Bay is a scenic ocean village tucked into a peaceful cove on the inner coast of Vancouver Island. The village is an all season destination, offering shops and galleries filled with local wares, and tourist attractions, built around public and private marinas. Seafood of all kinds, pulled directly from the bay and surrounding waters, is the hallmark of this destination. Fresh, whole and locally produced foods of all kinds, in all seasons, make Cowichan Bay a year round destination. More than a dozen wineries as well as a cidery, each producing their distinctive products, are located handily within this region.
