About Neureuter Karen
I live in this beautiful place with my recently retired husband and two dogs. Our five children were (mostly) raised here, and now live all over the map. We have four granddaughters and a grandson. My passions are my family, friends, animals, gardening, reading, learning, politics, peace in the world, and sustainable living. My small home businesses include a wedding/event site, bed and breakfast availability, and vacation rental of our property. I'm friendly, tolerant, helpful, and progressive.
Neureuter Karen purchased this chateau / country house in 1982
Why Neureuter Karen chose Geyersville
Weather and access to outdoors . . . we lived in San Francisco for years but got tired of the fog and living three flights up with no garden.
What makes this chateau / country house unique
It was the delicious promise of SPACE, privacy, peace, dirt, flowers and trees. Thirty years after the move, it's brought us so, so, SO much more.
Guestbook comments from the owner
We stayed at Karen's home for our family Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Words cannot describe how stunning the Alexander Valley is in the fall. But don't even try to book next year - We've got first dibs! The home is a large, wine-country gem. It's got a very live-in feel and appeals to a chef's sensibilities. The kitchen has tons of copper and iron pots, great stove and two ovens. Everything you could imagine to assemble a feast. Bedrooms are comfortable and well-outfitted. The bathroom situation is a little challenging, as all of the 4 bedrooms upstairs all share a bathroom, but the ones downstairs both have their own large private baths. The outdoor space is spectacular. It backs right up to the vines with nothing but vines, seemingly endlessly. You can hike through the vines, find a tree and make a picnic. We took multiple bike rides in the area, which is a cyclists dream. Karen is communicative and helpful. Despite some confusion at the start, she corrected it and worked with us to plan our perfect holiday. I highly recommend this host and home for your Sonoma retreat.
