• General: The apartment is the complete package. High quality apartment in the heart of old Athens where you can walk to all the ancient sites. Inexpensive to stay in with every facility you could require. A more spacious alternative to a hotel
• Meet and greet: We always meet and greet anyone staying with us. We enjoy showing you around the area and recommending our favourite places.
Hi. We have several apartments in Athens. We offer them to travellers who are interested in the cultural and artistic pursuits on offer in our amazing city, Athens.
We are interested in food, art, modern history and what is new and exciting.
We provide full kitchens for cooking, a wonderful art collection and many books on Modern Greece.
This is an excellent apartment in a central but quiet location in Athens. The apartment is in great condition and equipped with modern appliances. The descriptions are accurate, beds are comfortable (important!!) and air condition worked well (crucial in august in Athens).
But what really stood out during our stay was the helpful and friendly attitude of Lia - she met us when we arrived and literally gave us the tour of the neighborhood (bakery, grocery, metro, acropolis etc). She was also very flexible with our checkout time which was convenient for late afternoon ferry to the islands...
In sum - we were positively surprised from Athens (people warned us that august can be horrible - it wasn't!) and loved the apartment. Thanks Lia
My wife, 18 month old baby, and parents stayed here for four nights. We could not have asked for more! The communication regarding numerous aspects of before and during our arrival were timely and complete. Transportation was arranged, a lengthy write-up of vegetarian options in the area provided, along with help for ferry tickets and car rental. Our baby had a sleeping cot and a high chair. The accommodation is spacious, has all the amenities one could ask for, and is located in the Thissio area which is a walk along a promenade to the Acropolis. The tavernas up the street have outdoor seating and there's a grocery store a block away. It felt like we had a familiar relationship with many people after a few days at the apartment. We will definitely return and are grateful for the wonderful experience!
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. Lia met us at the metro station and gave us lots of good advice. The apartment was just the right size for our family and is clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is in a great location, quiet at night and we were able to walk everywhere. There are lots of local places to eat and drink and some lively bars for the younger crew. If you are in Athens for a sightseeing break then the paved path around the Acropolis starts just at the end of the road.
The apartment is truly as gorgeous as the pictures depict it to be! Bright, clean, airy and charmingly decorated with quirky artwork, the apartment was a great mix of the older original fixings, modern necessities and comfortable furniture.
Facilities and amenities:
Efficient air conditioning, WIFI, DVDs and cable TV when we needed a break during the killer summer afternoons. Nice touches like an umbrella and lovely Korres toiletries provided. We also appreciated that the kitchen came with coffee, tea, salt, sugar, milk, etc, for when we had breakfast, and the apartment had a washer/dryer.
What a fantastic location! The apartment is close to many bars, cafes, restaurants, as well as the Grand Promenade - the pedestrian-only pathway that leads to Thissio Metro station, Plaka area, the Agora, Acropolis, etc. We also easily managed to hail the hop-on / hop-off trains along the Grand Promenade that go to the major attractions for when it was too hot to walk. Quite a few happy hours were spent at the various cafes that had amazing views of the Acropolis.
Conveniently near were a supermarket and bakery with so many delicious baked goods and mini ice creams. We were also able to hail taxis very easily from our street.
As for noise levels, the apartment is a few blocks away from the busiest F&B stretch to be relatively quiet except for the occasional noisy vehicle at night
Thank you Mihalis for meeting us at the airport and getting us to the apartment comfortably and with his own introduction to Athens.
We really appreciated the file of information such as recommended places to eat nearby, as well as Lia's maps and quick introduction on how to get to the main sights of Athens. We also enjoyed our visit to the recommended Hammam very much.
We loved Athens and would definitely be staying with Boutique Athens again when we go back.
Really good apartment in excellent location. Excellent service, met at metro station as arranged (with ice cold drinks). Offered tour of local area. Apartment as described, wifi, good kitchen and bathroom. All info you require provided. We ate at two recommended restaurants, both of which were excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend either the company or the apartment.
KR1 is located in the inner city area known as Thission. Thission is in the middle of the areas we now call the ancient world of Athens.
Thission houses the best-preserved temple of Classic Antiquity, the temple of Hephaestus. Here, the god of fire and metal Hephaestus was co-worshipped with Goddess Athena who was the guardian of the city of Athens. They were both the protectors of the arts and crafts and especially of the metallurgists and ceramists.
This temple is the first of the works proposed by Pericles. Building began even before the Parthenon!
KR1 is a 3 minute walk from this beautiful temple. And from here the city of Athens has created a walkway to the other great temple of antiquity, the Parthenon and the Acropolis. The stroll to the Acropolis past some of the most amazing areas of Hellenic antiquity takes about ten minutes.
Thission is full of galleries, tavernas and small museums. And yet somehow has avoided the tourist tackiness of areas such as Plaka.
