This Victorian cottage is an old Bar Harbor style built in the late 1800's, and is reminiscent of a simpler time long ago...Warm touches of memorabilia and antiques and a nice large yard.
Enjoy the roomy, quiet back yard with picnic table, dining table and chairs. 2 grills for outdoor living. Walk to Somes Sound, (The only fjord in the continental U.S.) the bustling harbor (with magnificent sailboats, lobster boats, and more). Visit the beautiful Thuya and Asticou Gardens, and walk along Sargent Drive, which has one of the most beautiful views of where the ocean meets the mountains you will ever experience.
L.L. Bean offers a complimentary 'Green' propane bus and they will take you all over Mount Desert Island, Ellsworth and even up to Schoodic Point, which is also part of Acadia National Park, and be sure to visit. This is a great way to get all around the Island and surrounding towns without using your car! (Bus has bike rack)
Kick back from a long day of hiking and relax in this casual cottage. This cottage is a very relaxed, comfortable place to kick off your deck shoes and put your feet up while sipping an afternoon iced tea or cocktail on the sunny front porch or inside living area. The cottage has few updates and is very original. Casual is the best way to describe our cottage and a place to be totally carefree.
Enjoy the couple of minute walk to town and stroll around and enjoy our most unique shops, galleries and friendly people. Several street fairs occur each summer.
We have a wonderful new library with many summer events, which you are welcome to enjoy. There are many local activities throughout the summer and fall for you to enjoy.
This is a dog friendly home, however your pup must be up to date on vaccinations and use monthly flea/tick prevention.
There is a leash law in Maine. Cleaning up after your pup is expected both on the property and when walking in the Park and in all towns.
HOME IN FAMILY SINCE IT WAS BUILT (1887) My father grew up in this house and I spent summers there with my grandmother until I was married. I have owned it since she passed away in 1979. I had antiques business in town for total of 22 years and now spend the winter in Florida.
It has a wonderful location and is close to the water, which you can see when the foliage is off the trees in Spring, winter and fall from the kit., dining rm. and ft. bedrm. Best of all, it is my family home!
Alot of attention given to details. such as bedding, towels and designer pillows, original art, and privacy, generation of family memorabilia, Maine history within.
The beautiful Acadia National Park is within 5 minutes from the cottage and the Cranberry Islands are available by ferry or private boat from the town dock, also a 5 minute walk away. Northeast Harbor is a unique, lovely village with lots of history and many of the most beautiful homes and sailboats you will find in Maine. Enjoy the unique shops, galleries and one of a kind places to visit including a 5 minute walk to the magnificent Sargent Drive which hugs Somes Sound, the only fjord in the continental U.S.

A 300.00 reservation deposit is required to guarantee your booking.
Rental fee is broken up into 2-3 payments depending on length of visit.
"One" well behaved dog is allowed. There is a 50.00 pet fee added to the rental fee. Dogs must be up to date on shots and use a preventative flea control medicine. Maine has a leash law.
|A 300.00 reservation fee is required to guarantee your booking. Returned approximately 3 weeks after your departure date.
A 35 day notice is required for a full refund, "less reservation deposit". If under 35 days, no refund will be issued unless the same week(s) can be re-booked. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (USD) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.
