The quick facts: Two bedrooms, one with queen bed, the other with two sets of bunks. Couch is a sleeper sofa. Full bathroom. Kitchen has oven/stove, microwave and full size fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee maker. TV, VCR, DVD, CD Player, Free Wi-Fi.
This isn't your average rental cabin. It's my private cabin that I rent out when I myself am not there! As a guest, you will feel like you are at 'your own private getaway' and not just a visitor. This private and secluded cabin is tucked away on nearly 4 acres of gorgeous wooded mountainside just eight minutes from I-81 at New Market, Va. in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. 'Private and Secluded,' yes, but only from people, 'cause the birds and other critters will be looking in on you frequently.
Although IDEAL for a 'Getaway Weekend,' the cabin can accommodate up to 6 people and boasts a great fireplace with loads of cut firewood, air-conditioning (although, you won't need it), a nicely-equipped kitchen (utensils, pots & pans, paper products and, a microwave), and a gigantic screened-in porch, as well as a sundeck.
You'll have a TV & DVD/VCR with lots of movies, all sorts of games (horseshoe pits are just off the deck), and, of course, a charcoal grill. All the necessary linens are supplied. Just pack the charcoal, food, snacks and drinks!
There are lots of things to do nearby, caverns, ski resorts, and a golf course within a short drive. In town there is lots of shopping, 'antiquing,' good food, and many Civil War historical sights to visit in the Valley - or - just RELAX AND UNWIND!!
Yes, there is a phone, and if you just HAVE to let people find you, that's your choice! Of course there is a full bathroom and running water! Hey, I like to get away but still take a shower just like you! If you like caverns, you have chosen the right place! Minutes away you will find Endless Caverns and Shenandoah Caverns. A short drive away are Luray Caverns and Skyline Caverns, all of which you must see! Don't forget the George Washington National Forest, Shenandoah National Park, and Skyline Drive are all nearby.
Used to be a renter of the cabin myself in the 80s & 90s. The original owner sold it to me so that others could continue to enjoy it. I still have a lot of his original customers.
I try to keep the place equipped more like a second home than a rental. All you need to bring is food, charcoal and yourself!
Less than 10 minutes to I81 and many attractions yet far enough away from all the traffic and tourists.
Within minutes of the cabin is the quaint town of New Market with its many antique shops and restaurants. Just over the mountain to the east is Luray, another unique town as well as the famous Luray Caverns. About 25 minutes south is Harrisonburg. To the north you will find lots more to do in Mount Jackson, Edinburg, and Woodstock.
