Our homes are located along the Rio Grande Club Golf Course and the Rio Grande River. Golfing, Rafting, Fishing, Hiking, Biking, ATVing, Wild life watching and more are right out your back door! Also available are shopping, restaurants, and relaxation activities. Only 20 miles up the canyon in Creede boasts more shopping, restaurants, day spa, mining museum, and a LIVE Theatre. The fishing and trails are endless in our area surrounded by 95% national forests. You will get your fill of outdoor recreations and not even touch most of the nature that surrounds you.
Winter activities include downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, ice fishing, and hot springs. Wolf Creek Ski Area boasts the most snow in Colorado. Skiers come from all over to ski this awesome hill. Wolf Creek also has a really great ski school, really good food, and a family 'base camp' where families meet to break and eat their own brought in foods. This type of meeting space is unheard of at ski areas these days. This area also has an abundance of back country skiing. Skiiers take advantage of hiking the area surrounding Wolf Creek. San Juan Snowcat is a backcountry skiing outfit located in Creede = 20 miles away. They get you up on the snowcat for at least 8 hours and serve up a hearty, hot lunch.
Fly fishing in this area in unsurpassed. Gold medal waters are abundant and you will get a secluded fishing experience without even trying. Lots of lakes and creeks are also abundant in this area for kid friendly fishing.
The Sand Dunes National Park is located 75 miles away. This is a must do if you are coming to this area. Close to this reserve is the Nationally Acclaimed Alligator Farm. Hundreds of alligators live in these natural hot springs for viewing. Other wildlife and reptiles for viewing as well. While you are in this area, a must visit is the Sand Dunes Hot Springs Pool. Families can bbq, swim, slide, play basketball and relax among this pools grounds. This is a perfect day trip for your vacation.
I mentioned the Creede Reperatory Theatre earlier, but really this is a must do as well while you are here in the summer. This theatre is nationally acclaimed and the entertainment is beyond expectation. There are several restaurants available for fine dining in the area to complete the perfect date night.
