Hale Wailani (Heavenly Home) is situated on a hill above one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the world …. The local name is “Beach 69” on the Island of Hawaii. Its proper name is “Waialea Bay”. Even when the tradewinds are howling, this beach is protected and offers shade as well. The turquoise waters are tranquilizing and invite you to world class snorkeling in a marine sanctuary. Whales, dolphins, manta rays and sea turtles are a common sight.

Hale Wailani is one of the most elegant homes available as a vacation home on Waialea Bay. It offers a pool which is a rare find for this high demand area on the South Kohala coastline. The biggest white sand beach on the island, Hapuna, is 2 minutes away by car, or a short hike. The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and the Hapuna Prince are about a mile away and offer resort amenities, 5 star restaurants, spas, salons, shops, golf and more.

Hale Wailani was recently purchase by a new owner and upgrades are underway. Giant flat screen TVs, Xbox, Blue Ray are now available. New beds to accommodate a larger group include Koa Punees in the upstairs family room. It is taking on a new look and feel of island style décor that you will appreciate. (New photos coming soon!)

Only a handful of homes have access to Waialea Bay on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island. The local name is “Beach 69”. It is one of the most beautiful and pristine white sand beaches in the Islands. The bay is crystal clear turquoise water full of tropical fish and sea turtles. The beach has shade and wind protection.

Conveniently located near all the resort hotels and restaurants on the Kohala Coast. The Mauna Kea, the Fairmont Orchid, the Mauna Lani and Hilton Hotels are just minutes away with their beaches, first class restaurants, shops and world class golf courses. Kohala Divers is nearby at Kawaihae Center, and offers various ocean activities including scuba diving and sunset/afternoon sails. Kawaihae Center and Harbor are just5 minutes by car, with several great restaurants and shops

Hapuna Beach (voted best beach in Hawaii by Conde Nast Magazine) is just a mile away and offers swimming, snorkeling and boogie boarding. There is great surfing in the winter. When the surf is not happening, fantastic snorkeling and scuba diving will entertain you.

The sun shines 355 days per year and the average temperature highs are in the 80's with lows in the 60's. The beach is about 150 feet away.

Sea turtles, dolphins and whales are some of the sea life you may see. Wailani offers elegant beach style living and a real sense of getting away from it all.

The Waialea Marine Preserve is a protected environment for endangered sea life. Green sea turtles are a protected species and should not be bothered, only enjoyed and admired. Watch the humpback whales play during their migration to Hawaii from Alaska. It is quite a sight!

I have stayed at this home before and it is my FAVORITE HOUSE in the Puako – Wailea Bay area. This time it was even better as the pool was solar heated and afforded comfortable swimming – a real treat! We all loved the house, property and the location. We feel it is a benefit being up slightly over the beach as the whale watching was wonderful from the lanai, and the set back from the beach allows for more privacy. Our multi-state group of friends has committed to return every year that we possibly can. Simply fabulous!
