I am an Independent Contractor and have lived on this property for 33 years. I moved here from cornfields of Indiana and Ohio. Lisa and I first saw the Flathead Valley on our vacation and decided to quit our jobs in South Bend, Indiana move here without knowing anyone. It was a good move and have never regretted it. We have two children, Nawnie and Griffin who have spent time out of valley and now are living back here.

I feel fortunate that purchased this property back in 1980, even though it seemed expensive at the time, to buy in today's market might be prohibitive. The beauty of it, is that it is close to town and still very private. There is a K through eighth grade school just down the road from us, which both kids went to. It was just land with no building on it when we purchased, but fortunately, I was pretty handy with a hammer and was able to build my own home over the years when I wasn't working my day job. We lived in a flat roof daylight basement for the first 7 years, saving money to continue building up. It was a lot of incovieniences but worth it in the end. I divided the property a few years back and built another house just up the hill from the first one. This is the house we live in now and my daughter occupies the original house.

I belive the most appealing aspect of this property is that it is very private and yet just eight minutes from the Hutton Ranch complex, where are many resturants and establishments such as Home Depot, Target, Costco, Walmart and many others too numerous to list. The studio sits above my shop that I just finished in 2013. Everything is new and very functional. No worries of any shop noise as I will not be using it when the studio is occupied. I want my guests to have a great Montana expierance and I will do what I can to accomadate that. We have flower gardens that we plant every spring which adds to the beauty. We do have fence them, as I have found nothing that keeps the deer from using it as a smorgasbord. We have lots of wildlife here with deer and an occasional elk passing through. Bald eagles are not uncommon and many different species of birds including a family of turkeys.

VERY NICE

  • 5 of 5
We (two people, no children) stayed here for about five days. It was comfortable and definitely better than staying in a hotel. The owner is nearby but non-intrusive. Very clean, inviting apartment. We spent a lot of time inside and didn't feel cramped or uncomfortable.

NICE PLACE FOR A HOME BASE IN KALISPELL AREA

  • 5 of 5
The place is almost new. Comfortable room. Location seems like it is out of the way but it was actually quite close to everything. We used it as a base for our "mountain fix" vacation. Has Dish and wifi. Would stay there again.

WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY!

  • 5 of 5
The studio was fabulous! We didn't see the owners very much but that was because we were on the go from morning til night. We met Doug the last day of our stay but he had called us to make sure everything was alright and if we needed anything prior to that since he hadn't been able to catch us before we left. Thought that was very thoughtful of him. The location is away from town a little but still very convenient to head in any direction. The bed was really comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped with anything you need, nice television with lots of channels to choose from, washer and dryer was great, and the bathroom was very nice also. There was ac that cooled the studio down nicely. There is a closet and a couple of drawers for clothes storage if staying awhile. Great place to stay!

COMFORTABLE ACCOMMODATION IN A BEAUTIFUL SETTING

  • 5 of 5
The studio is spacious, comfortable and well thought out, and the surroundings are beautiful. It makes a very good home base for time spent in the Kalispell area, with easy access into town and the surrounding area. Everything is tidy and clean and as advertised, and the hosts are approachable and helpful and quick to respond to questions/inquiries. We enjoyed our stay and will return if back in the area. Highly recommended.

WONDERFUL

  • 5 of 5
My mom and I rented this cabin for our first trip to Montana and I must say I was very impressed. We wanted a quiet relaxing place for our vacation. This unit was perfect. Quiet, peaceful, clean, and beautiful. Located within about fifteen minutes from the airport be were there quickly, able to relax from a long flight, without check-ins and hassle. The rental is about forty-five minutes from Glacier National Park. Driving to the park allowed us the opportunity to see Montana and find places to visit that were not on our original itinerary, like the Hungry Horse Damn and the Montana Vortex, which made our vacation better. Located minutes from shopping, we were able to get groceries and cook our meals while we were there saving money by not having to eat out all week. Nights were spent watching movies rented from the Wal-Mart red box and sitting around the fire pit drinking coffee. We took a walk around the property and saw deer! Our hosts were gracious and non-intrusive. Linen service was a relief and because there was a washer and dryer we were able to have all our laundry clean before we left, leaving less to do when we got home.

We are located about 35 minutes from Glacier National Park. In 20 minutes you can be at Flathead Lake, which is the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi River. It has abundent opportuities for fishing, boating and swimming. There are many lakes and rivers all within a 30 minute drive. Kalispell and Whitefish are very art oriented with many galleries and a couple of museums. There are many niteclubs that bring in top name bands and entertainers from all over the country. It is not unusual to see celebrties in local bars and restruants, as many have second homes here in the valley.
