Maggie Valley Chateau / Country House Rental Photos and Description

Large 4 Bedroom/3 Bath Home Perfect For Large Family Vacations (Sleeps 10)

Buck Horn Lodge is located at 3800' above Maggie Valley with spectacular views of downtown Maggie Valley as well as near and distant mountains. We are located near the end of the road with no other homes in view where the cool breezes blow.

The home is furnished with everything you need for a relaxed vacation.

In the kitchen there's a range, refrigerator w/ice maker, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee pot w/filters, toaster oven, lots of pots and pans, dishes and silverware.

The large dining room table seats 8 and there's a table on the deck for outside meals. Also on the deck are 6 rocking chairs for reading, morning coffee, or afternoon relaxing. The night time view of the valley with the lights is spectacular.

The living room features a large fireplace (firewood is furnished), 2 leather recliners, 2 love seat recliners, two glider rockers, and a new HD TV w/bluray player. WIFI is provided.

A new 14' x 22' Master Bedroom was just added with it's own private deck. You can enjoy your morning coffee in the King size bed and watch the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks play on the deck. There are hummingbird feeders with lots of hummingbirds flying back and forth feeding. In the evening you can retreat to the bedroom and enjoy the electric fireplace, watch the 47' HD TV, or enjoy the view of downtown Maggie Valley at night. The Master Bath features a large shower and spacious vanity. There's plenty of space for your clothes in the walk-in closet. There is an A/C for times when the cooling breezes are not cool enough (which doesn't happen very often).

Upstairs there are two large bedooms each with a Kingsize bed. Each room has a TV w/DVD/VCR player. These two bedrooms share a bath that is located between the bedrooms. Each bedroom has it's own A/C unit for the rare night when they are needed.

Downstairs there is a small bedroom with a queen size bed. This bedroom has it's own private bath with a tub/shower. Just outside the bedroom is a sitting room with a TV. This TV is not connected to the Satellite system and is designed as a children's area for playing games or watching VCR/DVD's. We provide some family suitable DVD's but suggest you bring your favorites.

Located in the garage is a gas grill and a charcoal grill(bring your own charcoal)for cooking out (no the jeep and 4 wheeler are not included with the house).

If you are looking for some exercize take a walk to the top of the mountain. It's about 1 1/2 miles and in the summer you can pick blackberries to eat or make a blackberry cobbler. When you get to the top the views are spectacular. Be sure and take some water.

Maggie Valley has lots of shops and restaurants. There's a park on Jonathan Creek where the kids can play in the cold creek.

Also nearby is Waynesville with more shopping and dining, Cataloochee Valley where you can view the elk in the evening and tour old homesteads, the Blue Ridge Parkway with its views, Harrah's Casino in Cherokee, Biltmore Estate in nearby Ashville, Great Smokey Mountains National Park, and lots of hiking trails and waterfalls.

Beautiful home! Perfect!

Would stay here again! Very spacious and roomy! Beautiful inside and out! Amazing view. Very helpful and quick response of owner, had a little problem with water freezing up while we were there late one evening and the neighbor was over to fix it by 9am the next morning. Very nice and friendly people. You would not be disappointed with this property!

Beautiful home with a wonderful view and great accomodations

  • 5 of 5

Valentine's weekend was memorable for my family and friends at Buck Horn Lodge (4 adults and 4 teenagers). We went skiing and snowboarding (some for the first time) at Cataloochee Ski area, only 10 miles from the cabin. The first climb to the cabin was a bit scarry but once you get use to going up and down, VERY SLOW, is not so bad. There was room in the cabin for everyone, but we all preferred to sit by the fireplace! The kids entertained themselves with board games at the dining table or watching TV (NO VIDEO GAMES ALL WEEKEND!!!!!!) My friend and I crocheted while the men watched sports on TV... everyone was happy!! What we love the most was drinking chilled wine after leaving the bottle out on the porch for a few hours!!

Lovely home with great view!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Buck Horn Lodge this past weekend (8 adults/2 infants) and had a wonderful time! 5 of us went to WCU, so we enjoyed being close enough to visit the campus and see everything that has changed! I was terrified of the drive up the mountain from the other reviews, but it was not nearly as bad as I expected. Just take it slow and pay attention and you won't have any problems. The house does not have central heat, so if visiting in the winter plan ahead to have time to heat the house up-- we found once we initially heated it up, even though we turned all heaters off during the day when gone, the house remained very warm. They also provided plenty of firewood and we were able to have a nice fire the whole time we were there. The kitchen is nice and spacious and has more than you could ever need to prepare your meals-- we didn't eat out at all during our stay. The recliners in the living room are SO comfortable. I didn't get up from mine all day Sunday! :) The house is very clean and comfortable and we would certainly return!

Great Stay On Top of The Mountain!

  • 5 of 5

Two couples and three children had a wonderful stay at this cabin. The view is incredible. Loved lying in the bed in the master bedroom, looking out at the mountain range and Maggie Valley below. We also loved the firewood, complete with a wood and kindling supply, the dining room table where we spent most evenings making memories playing board games, downstairs area for the children (their favorite spot) and the towel warmers in each bathroom! I could go on and on. The house was VERY clean, and everything you need was provided - other than food and clothes. We would highly recommend this cabin for a comfortable place to relax from all of the hustle and bustle. During the day, we also enjoyed skiing at Catalochee and tubing at Tube World. Hope to go back to soon!

The Perfect Get-Away !!!

  • 5 of 5

This house is absolutely lovely! Every inch of the home is beautifully decorated. The drive up the mountain was a little stressful, but we quickly got accustomed to it. The owners were very helpful and prompt in answering all of our questions. The kitchen is equipped with absolutely everything you need. We went to many shops and restaurants and enjoyed being outdoors all day long. It was also great that we were able to take our dog ... She too had a great time. We definitely recommend Buck Horn to everyone and can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
