We are newly initiated empty nesters from Portland. We enjoy an active lifestyle that includes family, friends, hiking, skiing, jogging, and relaxing. With our free time (of which we wish there was more) we are usually either in the mountains, at the beach, or volunteering.
Reynold Roeder purchased this house in 2013
We often went to Pismo Beach, California to visit Wendy's parents at their beach home there. We have many fond memories of the family at the beach. When Wendy's parents passed away we decided we needed to keep the beach tradition going. Plus, you can't beat fresh seafood from the coast!
We looked at many homes in the area. When we walked in and saw the views from the main living area we knew this was the one. When our son saw the TV, pool table and bar downstairs, he was sold as well. We purchased the house as furnished but have been making, and plan to continue to make improvements. Our goal is have it be a better experience every year. If you stay and have suggestions, we are eager to hear them!
The Sand Chateau in Seaside exceeded our expectations. The view was absolutely stunning & the house was clean, comfortable and stocked with everything we needed for a week long family vacation. We will definitely be renting this property again!
It's a pretty house in a nice, quiet corner of the north end of town, right on the beach - can't get better than that! Ample parking & facilities for our group of 7 (6 adults, 1 tween), with room to spare. It's clean and neat and in reasonably good repair - excellent compared to many other houses we've rented in the area. I would recommend that the owner tighten up a few minor bits before the high season - the bedroom lamps are a little rickety (a couple looked like they were missing screws), the toilet seats need to be screwed in properly so they don't wobble, the window screens are in dire need of a good cleaning to take advantage of all those killer views both front & back. However, it's a lovely house, nice & large and well situated. Plenty of room for a large party with little nooks all over for anybody to find a quiet place to read or relax away from the group. The beds were comfortable & there were plenty of pillows, blankets and linens. The kitchen and dining area are spacious and well laid out to accommodate multiple workers & large group meals/gatherings. All of the amenities are there and the incredible views had us sitting staring out the windows, curled up next to the fireplace, for hours on end. The owners were very responsive and easy to work with, even going the extra mile to return two satchels to my mother-in-law who'd left them in a broom closet by accident. Very nice place, highly recommend.
Great place to spend a relaxing spring break. Large home with space for everyone (We had seven in our group; 2 adults and 5 kids). Lots for kids to do when not outside roaming the beach (which is literally right out the back door). Every amenity you can imagine. Fantastic communication with owners. What a pleasure. Hope this place continues to be available every time we need some time at the ocean. Tim & Cindy from Chicago
We have stayed at this house several times. The owners have made several upgrades this year and we noticed right away. The location is great, short walk to town and beach is right in front. We will be back again next year.
We stayed a year ago and were blown away by the house and the location. This year, with the upgrades you are installing, our week was even better. This will definitely be our go to place on the Oregon coast!
We had a great time and the home in Seaside was very good. It was clean and comfortable for our family of 9 for the week on the beach. The amenities provided us with lots of fun time shooting pool, playing ping pong or just relaxing. We would recommend it to anyone wanting a little time on the beach and the ability to sightsee the Oregon Coast, it is located in a very convenient place. The entire family would go back for another week.
