COMFY STUDIO IN GREAT LOCATION.

  • 5 of 5
This is a very nice, well equipped studio apartment in a very nice area of town. There is a Big Bus stop only 1 block away at the library and loads of restaurants, shops and entertainment nearby. There are 2 other Big Bus stops nearby so you can easily pick which section of the route you want to do and pick your bus stop accordingly. Granville Ave. is the more "party" type area with the area around Hamilton Ave. (one block over) being more upscale. There is someone at the desk 24 hours a day and you need a key fob to access the building. It appeared that most people in the building were permanent residents. There is a very nice pool, whirlpool and exercise room and a small green space out back. You can see a little of the ocean, Granville bridge and downtown views from the balcony. There is also a grocery store nearby that has lots of ready to eat or heat and eat type foods. There is a DVD player and collection of DVDs in the apartment. Detergent was provided for the washing machine and dishwasher and there were a few pantry items. The bed is a Murphy bed, but is queen sized and fairly comfortable; is is very close on the one side though which makes getting in and out a little challenging. My only real concern was the lack of communication once I made the reservation. The other reviewers had all had such good comments about how helpful Joel was, but I felt there was not much information given to me about checking in, picking up keys, etc. even after I sent several emails asking for details. However all did go well on check-in and you just get the keys from the person at the desk in the building.

GREAT LOCATION

  • 4 of 5
This condo is in a great location with good views of the city...it is located right in downtown area and you can walk to pretty much everywhere! Communication was good and easy to rent. Concierge is usually around if you needed something, although the one at checkout didnt seem to have a good morning and not friendly at all..

Suite is small but perfect for a couple...

Would stay again!!

RECENT STAY

Great location, close to everything and easy to use transit system. It is a perfect size for a couple, clean and comfortable. Owner very helpful in assisting us with questions we had. It can be noisy if windows open, lots of traffic and sirens. Other tenants and guests very friendly.

GREAT LOCATION!

  • 5 of 5
We live in Seattle and have been spending multiple weekends a year in Vancouver for the past 13 years. Until this trip we've used Priceline very successfully. After using Homeaway on a trip to Europe we decided to try it for Vancouver and we're glad we did. The location allowed us to walk everywhere in downtown (a must for us) as well as provided free parking (which is very rare in Vancouver). It is located very close to a grocery store which was an added bonus and was great for buying simple groceries for the weekend (cold cereal and milk, etc).

Joel, the manager, was great to work with and very helpful. He was especially responsive when Priceline accidentally charged us twice and refunded our money without and issues.

I think we're going to give up using Priceline in Vancouver and will stay at this location from now on.

(I do admit that the balcony and windows being on the 32nd floor makes me SUPER nervous. Especially the non-safe windows around my two small children.)

GREAT LOCATION

  • 4 of 5
We had stayed in 2 other Vancouver locations and this was our last stay before we flew home. It was as described, although the cleaning could be improved. We were very happy with the accommodation and the pool and spa were nice extras. The location is great for shopping, dining and close to public transport. It is also very easy to get to the airport from here on the skytrain. It was very hot while we were there, but that is to be expected on the 32 nd floor in summer. Don't miss the library - interesting architecture.

REGRETABLY SHORT OF PERFECTION

  • 4 of 5
This studio is exceptionally well located and is a great value. It's very well laid out for a compact suite. The only drawback in that regard is that there is little room between the Murphy bed and the wall on one side. It could be difficult to get in and out of bed on that side for someone who is not very agile.

The photo of the living area and balcony are dated and not accurate. The current sofa is not the same as in the picture, and is not as attractive. There is also no lounge chair on the balcony, but there is additional storage for clothing in that area. It's a very livable space for 2 people for a short stay (week or less) or a longer one for a single person.

My greatest criticism is that maintenance seemed to be lacking, There were light bulbs that needed to be replaced in the bathroom and in the track lighting in the living area. More importantly, there were still dishes in the dishwasher when we arrived, and it seemed not to have been run or it does a poor job of cleaning. While it was very convenient to have a washer/dryer combo in the unit, the lint filter in the dryer had not been cleaned in weeks, perhaps months. Other than that, the suite was tidy and clean.

Before our arrival, Joel was quite helpful and instructed us to obtain our keys from the building concierge because he was on holiday at the time of our arrival. Unfortunately, the concierge has many other duties, and is not always at the front desk. Joel left a basic orientation and procedures sheet on the refrigerator door, and it was helpful. One thing that could be added would be instructions on how to use the building intercom and guest admitting system. We have friends in the area and would have liked to have had them come up rather than meeting them outside the building.

Another issue, but one common to many Vancouver rental suites is the lack of A/C. There were 2 fans in the suite, a ceiling one and a standing unit. We happened to arrive during a heat wave, and the unit faces west. It was very warm, and might be too warm for some, but we are used to that kind of heat.

Overall, I would give the unit a qualified recommendation. It's a decent place to stay, but with just a little more personal attention could be an outstanding rental property.
