Bryersweet is an elegantly appointed shingle style 1600 square foot cottage located in the desirable West Ferry neighborhood abutting Sheffield Cove and Audobon Wildlife Reserve property, yet within walking distance to the village, the town beach, and West Ferry Marina. This is a perfect retreat for a relaxing summer vacation. Wade or kayak or swim in the cove, hunt for beach glass, walk to the Marina to order a packed picnic lunch you can take to the beach or marsh. Mornings & evenings you can relax with coffee or a cocktail on the front porch or open the French doors to the the private back terrace with its White Garden chaise lounges and fireplace.
Since the house was built, it has been owner occupied. And the owner has summered on this Island for all her life, and now lives here year round.
Stacey Lyon purchased this cottage in 1998
The house is full of light, catches the southwest breeze which comes up reliably every day in the summer between noon and one pm. At night you can hear the foghorn and the waves. With an open living and dining room , the house lives much bigger than its footprint and is ideal for a single, a couple with frequent house guests, or a small family.
The house is beautifully appointed and leans toward the Belgian style with antiques, some modern touches and Nature's 'finds'.
