Spacious and affordable Georgian Revival Style building located in Historic District near Forsyth Park.

Forsyth Park is a leisurely five minute walk. Free shuttle service, dining, antique shops, entertainment, museums, numerous parks/squares, full service grocery, River Street, and many other sites and activities are just minutes away. There is always plenty of free non-metered street parking in front of the property, and Tybee Island is an easy 16 mile drive.

This beautiful second floor 3 bedroom 2 bath condo boasts 1300 sq ft and sleeps 6 comfortably. Includes private entrance, 3 queen size beds, master bedroom has ensuite bathroom and balcony. Unit includes hardwood floors, central air, ceiling fans, cable TV, flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, washer/dryer, bluray dvd player and much more. There is always plenty of non-metered street parking in front of condo.

Maximum occupancy six.

With its rich history and some 200 city-wide festivals and events each year, Savannah is the place to be.

About Mary Pizzimenti

My husband and I grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania and currently live 17 miles outside of Sacramento CA. I am a real estate broker who is licensed in CA, GA and UT and my husband is a IT supervisor. We enjoy spending time in Savannah as we love the southern hospitality and friendliness of the residents.

Why Mary Pizzimenti chose Savannah

We love Savannah and all of its history and charm. The genuine friendliness of the residents and visitors are second to none. It has great restaurants, entertainment, shopping, nearby beaches and countless other activities. There is always something to do and someplace to go. When an opportunity arose to purchase an abandoned building, with historic significance, and restore it to its original beauty we couldn't resist. This building has 4 separate condos. We chose to keep one unit for our own use as we visit Savannah as often as possible.

What makes this condo unique

Place yourself in Savannah's rich history. This property was completely renovated to help preserver the historic charm and significance that keeps Savannah a unique and beautiful city. The exterior maintains the period correct architecture while the interior has all the modern conveniences and comforts. The original structure has been described as Vernacular Neoclassical Revival, local interpretation of a combination of Georgian Revival and Edwardian architecture. With its pediment porches and two-story porticos supported by round columns, the building has been formally identified as being of 'significant value as a Classical Revival apartment house'. Originally set aside as 'Garden Lots' in General Oglethorpe's original town plan of Savannah, the land would become known as the Beach Institute Neighborhood. Early records find that in 1782 the land, named Fairlawn Plantation, was a working rice plantation. In 1853 with the advent of the Savannah & Albany Railroad, construction of Savannah's East Side began in earnest. Workers for the railroad were in need of housing and developers capitalized on that need by developing land tracts slated for building lots. Of interest, is that a single African American woman, Mary Ellen Richardson, wholly developed the property. She owned the property from 1868 until her death in 1929. Somewhere between 1898 and 1916 the original structure was replaced with the building that stands to this day. Mary Richardson's also built the Carpenter Italianate row house as well as a single-family dwelling in the same area.

Better than expected.

The property was well maintained, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen was socked with all the cooking equipment we needed for the weekend. We couldn't have been happier with the place. It is a bit of a walk to downtown (15-20 minutes) but on a nice day its a nice pleasant walk. If you plan on getting trolley tour tickets there is a stop only a 5 minute walk away.. (I would suggest Old Town Trolley, they were great)

Wonderful stay in Savannah

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was clean, nicely decorated, and in a great location. Everything was in walking distance, but could be considered a bit far if the weather isn't nice. Note that the master bedroom was bit loud/bright due to it facing the street, so beware of that when choosing bedrooms! The owner was friendly and made some great recommendations of things for us to do while visiting. I would definitely stay in this property again!

This is a great place to stay in Savannah! The condo was very clean and had great upgrades. It was located within walking distance to Forsyth park, restaurants and a grocery store. The owner was easy to contact and was very friendly. We hope to visit again sometime soon!

Very pleased

Our family stayed during the Thanksgiving Holidays. The property was well appointed, very clean and more than enough linens - was better than what we expected. Plenty of room for five of us. A bit walk to River Street though doable. Kroger grocery store only a couple of minutes away. We would rent again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the nice review. For those of you that don’t wish to walk to River Street there is a free shuttle service called Connect-on-the-Dot that runs throughout the Historic District. There is a stop just a few minutes from the property. I keep a map of the Dot route in the unit, but always check online for route and time changes. Driving to River Street is also very easy, that is what I usually do, and parking is seldom a problem.

Fun weekend exploring this charming Southern city!

Thanks for an awesome place to stay in Savannah! The condo was immaculate, very clean and extremely well stocked with all that we needed. Myself and a group of five other girls stayed here for a little getaway weekend to celebrate one of our friends getting married next month. The condo was perfectly laid out for two people per room with the three bedrooms and bathrooms were large/easy to share as well. The condo has plenty of parking on both sides of the street (just be careful to read the signs, there are some weird time restrictions for city street cleaning where you might have to switch to the opposite side depending on the day) and is about a 3-minute walk to the Kroger down the road and a 5-minute walk to Foresyth Park. Never felt unsafe or like we were in danger while walking around this area, although it is kind of further outside of the "main" entertainment area of town (River Street and such) - still very walkable, around 15-20 minutes or, if the humidity is too much, about a $6 cab ride. We drove out to Tybee one day and spent the afternoon at the beach, then took the rest of the trip to explore Savannah and do some shopping, eating, and drinking. :) We also did the Boos and Brews tour, which I highly recommend! Many interesting facts and great stops along the way that really highlight Savannah's history. We hope to come back soon, next time maybe as a couples trip with our husbands also!
