Situated on the west end of the Sintra hills close to the Cabo da Roca Lighthouse, the furthest most westerly point in Europe.
This historic area has many beaches with beautiful walks not to mention great local fish restaurants. It is located only 15km from Cascais and Sintra and 25km from Lisbon.
This beautifully restored cottage on the edge of my garden has private access and enjoys panoramic sea views with wonderful sunsets.
The cottage is fully insulated, double glazed and fully heated for maximum comfort with a luxury bathroom.
Golf at Quinta da Marinha (10 km away): The golf course at Quinta da Marinha has 18 holes with 5.870 metres of unadulterated nature surroundings and major challenges.
Designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Senior, this par 71 has great views to Atlantic Ocean and Sintra Mountains.
The area, Lisbon Golf Coast, won the IAGTO Award in 2007 - best established golfing destination Europe. Challenge your friends for a little play-off or enjoy the services of our resident PGA Pro. The main thing is to practice your sport of choice in gorgeous natural surroundings.
Nature Walks: On your door step you have access to the idealic Sintra moutains. These are great for nature walks and picnics.
Thank you very much for the nice evening at your house and of course the week at your wonderful place. We really enjoyed the quiet and warm atmosphere and we are looking forward to seeing you again next year.
Great location - elegant interiour and wll located for visiting both, beaches for surfing and Sintra for sighseeing.
Of course - you need a car!
The cottage is seperated from the main house and has its own terrace with BBQ. Very workable for families. Located on very quiet street, no noise whatsoever. Helpful, nice and interesting owners, easily available for questions or a chat. Of course - you need a car.
Would definately recommend this property to others.
Nick and Sveta are very welcoming hosts for guests at this lovely cottage on the coast. The setting and views are idyllic looking down to the ocean. Very easy to get to from Lisbon with a car and yet a world away in the mountains and forest. There were lots of places to go and visit in the locality. The cottage had everything we needed, was well presented and cosy. It was very comfortable for us. We really enjoyed being able to sit on the terrace too. We had a smashing time and would definitely go again.
The house is brandnew and very beautiful. Small, but nice bathroom. Cooking-facilities limited as there are only 2 pits. No dish-washer. Washingmachine (=handy). 40' drive to Lisbon.
Owners are very friendly and helpful.
Very safe, automatic fence.
Disavantage : very close to Cabo da Roca, very chilly and extremely windy, impossible for us to have breakfast outside or to do a BBQ, what a pitty : therefore mixted feelings about this property.
we ,a familie with 4 persons, stay from the 03-17th of july in
Swetas and Nicks beautifull cottage.
It is a very modern and fine house and they both are very
friendly people, we like them so much.
The house was cleaned one time the week (it is always clean) , change towels and bedsheeds also.
In the future we hope that we can stay there again.
We stayed at the cottage for a week in early April 2010.
It is the loveliest cottage I have been to. The decoration is simple but wonderfully thought out and tastefully put. There is only one medium sized bathroom but this is clean, warm and very modern with the most powerful hot shower!!!
The kitchen is modern and basic with 2 hobs and a big oven, so if you don’t want to cook 3 course meals you should be fine with a few simple dishes. We tried the Barbeque out which worked like a dream and produced a lovely alfresco feast. Feel free to ask the owners for advice on this as they were very helpful with us (we were even offered a nice bottle of local white wine which went down a perfect treat).
This cottage is located in a small village with a couple of nice local restaurants, small village shop and cafe (all walking distance).
The weather wasn't amazing but good enough to be outside sightseeing, walking and over all enjoying the lovely country side and fresh air.
I do suggest having a small car so that you can visit the surrounding beaches, towns and most importantly Sintra (old town) with its beautiful Palaces and Castle.
We thoroughly loved it and enjoyed every relaxing and quiet minute of the holiday.
This is not for you if you want noise and excitement. The cottage is on the edge of the village and may almost be the quietest place you have ever been to but yet so close to civilisation.
The owners live in the house next door (don’t worry as you have plenty of privacy and your own key/gate opener, private entrance and drive way).
Nick and Sveta (no formalities here) are delightful and very welcoming. Nick is particularly good at recommending (value for money) local wines and restaurants so you should definitely go with a few of his suggestions.
Other Activities: Painting, sightseeing, nature walks and conservation
