I am a self-taught artist who creates clothing out of recycled shirts and sweaters. I'm fortunate to be able to do what I love for my living! I also enjoy biking and kayaking. I love to cook, watch foreign and indie films and listen to jazz and blues. I enjoy road trips, hanging out with family and friends and visiting new places. I also have a love affair with houses, especially those that need a bit of loving attention and have owned rental property on and off since 1975.

I lived in Carolina Beach and owned a few places, but had the calling to move to the western part of the state and now reside in Hendersonville, NC. On a recent vacation to Carolina Beach, I rode my bike up and down every street until she spotted a 'for sale by owner' and said, 'I'll take it!' Many gallons of paint and a complete remodel later, Sunnyside is available to share with you! We love the idea of recycling a tired, neglected property and furnished the place with hand painted furnishings and original artwork as you can see in the pictures. In fact, Sunnyside was featured in Mobile Home Living.com.http://www.mobilehomeliving.org/2013/01/bold-single-wide-remodel.html We like to come down to the beach as often as we can. The fenced yard is so handy to let our dogs out especially during inclement weather. ( who wants to walk down flights of steps to take them out in the rain?) This is definitely a happy house and we know you will love the laid back lifestyle at the beach!
Unless you are coming to Carolina Beach to play video games and watch T.V. we think that Sunnyside is the perfect vacation spot. Walking distance to all the amenities of Carolina Beach, but in a quiet neighborhood with it's own yard for the kids and dogs. The deck has 4 Adirondack chairs and an umbrella table for 4, plus an old school charcoal grill where you can cook the catch of the day purchased just down the street at Blackburn's Seafood Shop. Listen to the ocean as you sip your Margarita while the grand kids play and pets romp. If you are like us, you won't want to go home!
