Homer Chalet Rental Photos and Description

Chalet, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)

An attractive 2000 square-foot, chalet-style private home that sleeps eight, located 15 miles off east end road known for its stunning views.

Large windows with a southern exposure maximize the warmth of long daylight hours, so you can enjoy the scenery and wildlife—moose in the yard, eagles swooping across the sky, sandhill cranes, hawks, or occasionally a bear. Relax on the large deck and enjoy a sunset with views of kachemak bay, snow-capped mountains and breath-taking glaciers. Or soak in the outdoor hot tub after a day of fishing in the halibut fishing capital of the world.

The house has an open design with a vaulted ceiling offering plenty of space to gather together to visit with friends and family. A large kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities you will need to prepare your catch of the day or grill on the outdoor bbq.

The spacious upstairs master loft presents more spectacular views, a private half-bath and queen bedroom set. On the main level, with living room, dining room and kitchen, is one bedroom with a double bed. Unwind in the jacuzzi tub located in the large bathroom just across the hall. The lower floor offers the third bedroom with a queen bed and recreation room with a pull out couch, laundry and another full bath with a shower. Wi-fi, wii, playstation, dvd and cable tv are all available to make your stay comfortable in every way.

Nearby is the state recreation park overflowing with wildflowers in season, where you can have a casual walk and picnic or a hike featuring fantastic views of kachemak bay and cook inlet.

Homer offers salmon and halibut fishing, kayaking, miles of beach to explore, clamming, whale watching, birding, marine tours, museums, art galleries, hiking, horseback riding, biking, fly-in bear viewing, scenic flight tours, spas and a variety of great restaurants featuring local seafood and other tasty dishes. There is something for everyone here.

We look forward to helping your homer, alaska vacation be your best vacation ever!

About Sherrie

Having lived in Alaska for over 30 years we had to move our family in 1997 due to medical problems. When we were able we wanted to move back but had reservations of trying to return to the past. So we moved to Homer, a new location for us and have loved it. The first time my son saw it, he arrived on our fishing boat and said it was the most beautiful place he had ever seen.

Sherrie purchased this chalet in 2005

Why Sherrie chose Homer

Quiet, away from busyness of town, family friendly.

What makes this chalet unique

Sunshine all day long, 20 hours of daylight, soaking in the outdoor hottub or taking in the views from the deck all seem magical. The quiet lifts your spirit and fills you. It is the perfect place to relax.

The house was fantastic! We had a girl's getaway! Plenty of places to sleep. Main living area roomy. Kitchen well stocked! The hot tub was a nice finish touch to a long day of kayaking!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was very clean, quiet and the views were great. We saw a mother and baby moose from the living room window. The owners were very friendly and answered any questions we had. We would go back in a heartbeat. We live in Anchorage, and love to make a yearly trip to Homer every year. So happy that we found a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend it!!

Outstanding Place

  • 5 of 5
Everything we wanted and expected as advertised.

The family was able to move right in and enjoy all of the included amenities including propane BBQ, hot tub, wireless internet and fully equipped kitchen. The place was very clean and comfortable and just a 20 minute drive past town.

We say several moose to and from and the views were spectacular, when the clouds were not obstructing them.

I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

Great Place to Relax and enjoy nature

  • 5 of 5
The chalet is located up in the hills above Homer. We had great views from the chalet, and saw a mother and baby moose walk right next to the house. We used the grill on the deck, and enjoyed the hot-tub after days of sightseeing adventures. The chalet was well-maintained and clean. The owner was very helpful in answering questions about the area and giving us suggestions. Wi-fi, but no cell reception in the chalet (could text). There is also a piano in the chalet---if we would have known, our son could have brought his music books to practice on vacation. Great place to stay!

Homer is the Halibut Fishing Capital of the World. Salmon fishing is plentiful in the rivers or by charter in the bay. On the Homer Spit is the local Fishing Hole for those less inclined to open water.

Water taxis are available to schedule your trip across Kachemak Bay to hike to Grewingk Glacier or many other destinations including the sweet fishing village of Seldovia. Twice a day are trips to Halibut Cove where you can spend the day walking on the boardwalk, visiting the local shops with handmade crafts and dine at The Saltery Restaurant.

Two acclaimed museums spark the interest of all who visit. Islands and Oceans Visitor Center illuminates the natural habitat of the area while Pratt Museum features the history with an array of excellent exhibits.

The Homer Spit offers beach activities, bicycling or walking or jogging on 5 miles of paved bike trail with spectacular ocean and mountain views. Several volcanoes are visible and make a backdrop for fabulous Pacific sunsets. Bishop Beach is also located in Homer providing miles of beach for the avid beachcomber to wander along the bluffs of Kachemak Bay or enjoy a fire on the beach.

There are 3 Old Believer Russian Orthodox villages to visit within 8 miles of our property. Within 2 miles alpine meadows overflowing with wildflowers in season and stunning views of Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet abound at the Eveline State Recreation Park. This is one of our personal favorite places!
