The Lakeside Cabin is located steps from The Camp and boasts spectacular views of the Lake James. This three bedroom, two-and-one-half-bath cabin sleeps 8, has an expansive porch and indoor/outdoor fireplaces. Within a short walk of The Camp’s Social Hall and pools, this retreat also enjoys a private kayak launch and boat dock in the backyard.
Whether you’re spending a quite weekend away or planning an action packed family vacation The Camp’s cabins are perfect getaways. Our Cabins have spacious kitchens and living spaces that can accommodate large or small groups.
Both properties enjoy easy access to our miles of community trails, including the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail, a linear national park running through the community.

Located between Asheville and Charlotte in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Lake James is 6800 acres of crystal clear mountain waters. An abundance of parks and protected wilderness surround the Lake. Much of the region’s land is part of the 500,000-acre Pisgah National Forest, the oldest national forest in the United States. South Mountains State Park has an 80-foot waterfall, and miles of trails.
Mount Mitchell is the highest peak east of the Mississippi River. Right off the Blue Ridge Parkway this 1,946-acre Mount Mitchell State Park is one of the best places to enjoy of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Linville Gorge Wilderness area is known as the Grand Canyon of North Carolina. A trip to the Gorge to see Linville Falls is an experience that you do not want to miss.
Take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Portion of this 469-mile national treasure are close to Lake James and a great way to see the Blue Ridge Mountains.
