This beautifully crafted post-and-beam vacation rental on Orcas Island is a refuge from the bustle of everyday mainland life. Located in a private, secluded setting on the north side of the Island, Enchantment Lodge is a place to relax, watch the eagles soar overhead, take a hike, hang out at the nearby community beach, and feel urban stress float away on the breeze.

A sense of volume is created by the home's high ceilings and large windows that embrace magnificent water, island, and mountain views, yet the interior atmosphere is snug and romantic. Tastefully furnished with all the essentials, Enchantment Lodge offers a wood stove to keep things cozy and a fluffy queen size bed in the open loft . To accommodate additional guests, there is also a futon in the loft as well as a second futon downstairs. Outdoor amenities include a large deck and lovely gardens.

Sweet vacation dreams will come true at Enchantment Lodge and if you're a dog parent, Fido can join you to play safely in a large fenced yard.

To reach Enchantment Lodge from the ferry dock, you will drive about 20 minutes to the village of Eastsound and then 20 minutes to the northwest side. Like many Orcas Island access roads, the last 2 miles of the drive are not paved.

The home is cared for by a local rental manager to be sure that your stay goes smoothly. They will help you with your reservation also!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was very happy with the location.
The vacation rental was very clean.
The property manager was somewhat unhelpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.

Reviewer Comments:
A great cabin with a beautiful view, wonderful garden and deck. The only problem was the dead deer just outside the fence. We called to inform the management company and were told that WE should call the road dept./public works to have it removed. Why should I have to deal with it? Would I have to fix a busted water heater, broken pipes, or clogged drain? Or would I have to call the plumber? NO! That's why I paid $300 per night to stay there on my honeymoon no less.
Property management means THEY manage these things. Management knew it was there for over a week, but never bothered to cart it off or cover it. The cabin and garden were great, we just couldn't enjoy all the property because of the horrific stench.

Manager responded on 9/10/2012:
Hi David, we are sorry you experienced these unpleasant conditions! Although we cherish the abundance of deer and other wildlife on the San Juan's, witnessing their cycle of life can be disconcerting. Unfortunately, there are no animal control resources on Orcas Island (a member of our staff gave you erroneous information) and the local manager had presumed the situation would be resolved by the eagles in short order. We regret that we were not proactive in offering other accomodation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Enchantment Lodge #275 in Orcas Island. The location of the house (close to town), the peacefulness, and the house itself were wonderful. The only reason I would not give a perfect score (house general condition) is because the bed was pnot very comfortable and there were no extra pillows. For me, having a comfortable bed is important. So I would strongly recommend replacing it. Otherwise, we loved our stay. Thanks.

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 pups and had the most fantastic time. We loved the peaceful property and wonderful private beach to walk to every morning and evening. We watched seals playing and saw otters on the beach! We went for long hikes every day all around the island. Wonderful vacation and we will stay here again!
