About Marie and Lorenzo

I moved from chaotic Moscow City to a peaceful medieval town in Tuscany a few years ago. It became my second home and the place I would like to come back again and again after traveling all around the world. This little village is so charming and genuine that I fell in love with at first sight

Marie and Lorenzo purchased this house in 2008

Why Marie and Lorenzo chose Vicopisano

Among all the towns around Pisa this was the most genuine and full of history. Close to railway stations and airports, but still very quite and surrounded by incredibly beautiful landscape. It's close to mountains as well as to the sea. It's a strategically located property, if you want to get easily to Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Livorno or Siena, San Gimignano or Volterra. It will take less than an hour to drive to Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi beaches.

What makes this house unique

We are lucky to be helped by our friends, Lorenzo and Marie (seen in the photo) will be dealing with your booking enquiries and will meet you at the property. They live nearby and know the area really well, so you can rely on them with anything you may need to know about this region.

Owner's Response: Dear Jerry B Thank you so much for taking the time for writing a review for Casa Due Torri and we would also like to take the opportunity to say it was a pleasure to meet you and your family. Apart from spending time with you at the olive farm etc.. It was great to keep bumping into you in the little wine barin the village. It truly felt like you were locals and it seems strange that you are no longer around. We hope you come back and visit us again soon. With warmest regards Marie and Lorenzo

Girl's trip to vicopisano

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in Casa dui torri. Marie and Lorenzo were great hosts. The information that they sent prior to arrival and the book in the apartment was beyond helpful. Everything you need to know about Vicopisano and the surrounding area is there. The apartment itself was the best place that we stayed in our three week trip around Umbria and Tuscany. I can't recommend it or Marie and Lorenzo enough. Thank you for your hospitality and ending our great adventure on such a high note!

A comfortable and charming property in a small but quaint village with access to larger towns and sites. It would fit most needs/wants of those who appreciate local life in Italy.

Relaxing week in the heart of Tuscany

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a lovely week at this property. We were met at Pisa airport by a friendly taxi driver after arranging this in advance with Marie. It was worth doing this as we landed late in the evening and were not planning on hiring a car during our stay. On arrival at the property we were met by Marie and Lorenzo who made sure we settled in. Throughout our stay they were readily available to help with any questions we may have had, and also booked a table for us at local restaurants when we asked....so much easier than trying to make ourselves understood as our grasp of the Italian language is very limited! Nothing was too much trouble for this genuinely friendly couple who made us feel as if we were the only guests they had, or would have, to deal with.

The description of this property is accurate, and it was very clean and well maintained. The last bus back to the village is early, about 5.30 pm but this was to our advantage as we got the chance to eat at several restaurants within easy walking distance. Not expensive to eat out in the village and a bottle of wine set us back about 3 euros (even cheaper in the supermarket)!! Good facilities in the apartment though, if you choose to eat in. Local shops 5 mins walk away. We walked a lot and used public transport to explore the surrounding area. The weather was pleasantly warm, at about 21 degrees, with no rain. We would definitely recommend this apartment to friends and family as a chance to live in a typical Italian village away from the hustle and bustle of a busy tourist area, yet close enough to get to Pisa, Lucca, Florence etc if desired.

The four of us loved our stay at in Casa Due Torri in Vicopisano. Our accomodations were outstanding, and we loved the large private terraces off each of the upstairs bedrooms - especially the one with the close-up view of the medieval tower! It felt as if we had stepped back in time, and we enjoyed not only Vicopisano, but our day trips from there to Lucca, Pisa, Castelini, and Livorno. Lorenzo and Maria were great hosts - attentive, and just a phone call away when we needed something. Maria arranged and accompanied us on a personal walking tour of the area - including an olive-and-wine tasting on an operating farm, and a visit to a local ceramic shop.

Our stay at Casa Due Torri was a highlight of our 3-week vacation in Italy.
