Permitted vacation rental. Nestled on Baldwin Avenue, this newly available one bedroom cottage provides convenient and comfortable accommodations for up to 2 people (1 queen and 1 queen sofa bed) with the amenities of Historic Paia Town and Paia Bay just a few minutes walk away.

The cottage offers a fenced and gated yard area, private parking, island style decor, fully equipped kitchen, private yard space for board/gear storage, coin operated laundry, ceramic tile floors throughout, and an outdoor covered lanai with dining and BBQ area. Beach chairs and beach towels are provided.

The Maui Bus provides public transportation and the bus stop is about a 10 minute walk from the property.

My husband and I grew up in the islands, raised 3 beautiful daughters and now have 6 grandsons. Prior to moving to Maui in 1999, we lived in Kailua on Oahu and then spent 9 years in Waimea on the Big Island. The North Shore of Maui provides all the activities we enjoy from golf and tennis to biking and walking the beach. We have embraced Maui's slow pace and laid back lifestyle. What makes this cottage unique

We bought our property and developed it into 3 plantation style cottages, in keeping with the architectural design of the town and era. 2 of the cottages are in a fenced and gated setting and provide a very 'island vibe' that visitors will enjoy as much as we do. It is very laid back and yet the island and coastal decors of the cottages provide comfort and beauty.

Paia is a reflection of its history as a booming sugar cane plantation town with its old plantation style wooden buildings still intact. This quaint and charming little beach town has an array of fine specialty shops, boutiques, surf shops, antique stores, bakeries, and even an old fashioned tattoo parlor. Award wining restaurants offer everything the discerning diner could want from casual bites, to the full service internationally renowned seafood of Mama's Fish House. Mana Foods, the legendary grocery store built on local, organic principals is five minutes walk.

Spa services and yoga studios are all within easy reach.

World class windsurfing beach, Ho'okipa Beach is in one direction and Kanaha Beach Park in the other, along with Baldwin Beach Park and Baby Beach. They are all within a five minute drive. Paia Bay and Baldwin Beach are about a 10 minute walk from the cottage.

All areas of the Island are within easy driving distance from the road to Hana to the slopes of Hale'akala. You will enjoy this local Maui experience.

We stayed here with our 4y old son and a baby for 2 weeks. Everything was perfect for us, dan and jacque were great hosts and very helpful in all our questions ( getting the right windsurfequipment). The appartement was very clean, everything there we needed, towels, linens, even some playingstuff for the children, which we found very nice and a babycrib for our little one. We highly recommend this rental for families with children, surfers and all those who want to live in walkingdistance to the very fine town paia.

Private cottage close to everything

I had the pleasure of being one of the first official renters of Jacque's and Danny's nice cottage on Baldwin Ave in Paia. The pictures on this page provide an accurate reflection of this very clean place, which offered all I needed for my week on Maui. The location is perfect, putting you in walking distance (5 minutes) of Paia with e.g. Mana Foods (which is great for grocery shopping) as well as many restaurants and unique shops. A few more steps and you are at the beach. At the same time, the place is a little bit off the road in a gated area providing privacy.

The cottage is very close to the airport, which is great if you plan day trips to some of the other islands. Parking at Kahului airport is max. $10. Going east on Baldwin Ave brings you to Makawao in just under 10 minutes and from there it is not far to Haleakala Highway and the Crater Road. Leaving the property in the other direction will put you in Hana Highway in no-time. Overall, the central location of the cottage makes it a great hub for activities all over Maui.

Both Jacque and Danny were great hosts, very helpful and attentive. I can certainly recommend this place to solo travellers such as myself as well as to couples.

This cottage is amazing! We just spent 3 weeks on our honeymoon here and didn't want to leave. Beautiful inside and out, the cottage makes you feel right at home immediately. Owner's Danny and Jacque are true professionals who offer you an unbelievable island experience. The cottage has everything you need and more. We cooked several meals on our trip and spent lots of time hanging on the island style lanai. Parking was great. With the bamboo gate closed the property becomes a private island oasis all to yourself. Walking distance from the great shops and resturants/bars of Paia makes this cottage even better, if possible. Perfectly located for the Paia bypass to skip the afternoon traffic (you'll see what I mean!) and 4 doors down from the Paia Pit Stop make this the best location in Paia. I highly recommend booking some a vacation here while you still have the chance!

We can't wait for our next visit to see Danny and Jacque and stay at our favorite cottage on Maui. They are true to the aloha spirit and it shows through their beautiful property and the way they treat their guests. They have created a unique opportunity to see Maui from the north shore and live like a local, even if it's just for a couple weeks. My wife and I both surf and found this to be a great location for catching some amazing waves. Even after taking many trips to the west side for surf and sightseeing, we were always ready to get back to Paia and relax. Like I said before, this place is great and you should get it while you can.
