About Stephanie Sales
My husband and I met in Boone while attending Appalachian State. The winter right after college, we decided to buy a house together while we figured out what our next step was. Just days after we closed on the house, my husband got orders to deploy to Kuwait. I spent the whole next year putting my heart and soul into remodeling the house into a home. It was a perfect welcome home gift when he came back that fall.
Less than a year later, his job uprooted us and we decided to keep our home and use it as a vacation home. Thus, the Drifting Leaf Lodge was born. As a military family, we are constantly on the move and only make it back to the lodge periodically. The rest of the time, we want to share our special home with others.

Why Stephanie Sales chose Boone
We purchased this home because we grew so fond of this area while attending Appalachian State. Boone is one of the most fun places I have been. An inviting small town but still plenty to do, Boone is perfect for explorers like ourselves. The lodge is also only two minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway which is where we fell in love. We would grab lunch and go on scenic drives or hikes in between (or during) classes. The Parkway is a wondrous place and we wanted that to be our back yard!
What makes this lodge unique
The most unique aspect of the lodge is that almost everything is handcrafted or made by us. From the paintings on the walls, to the headboards, and even the quilts, our home has personal touches you can't find anywhere else!
