The Main House & Guest House are connected by a screened in breezeway.

Planning an unforgettable good time for friends and or family in the Orange Beach area? Consider the sanctuary of this private home, that sleeps a total of 12 adults- 6 in the Main House; 1 queen bed in the upstairs master bedroom, 1 king sleeper sofa in living room, 1 double bed on 1 st floor bedroom; and 6 in the Guest House; 1 king bed, 1 queen, 1 twin bed plus 1 twin trundle bed. The Main House has 2 full baths and the Guest House has 1 full bath and 1 half bath.

Together both units provide plenty of room to relax inside and out. Please inquire with us about rates and sleeping accommodations for 6 or less, as we will consider renting the Main House or Guest House separately. *Special rental rates apply. Please inquire about renting just the main or both the main house and the guest house.

Enjoy the large screened in sleeping porch off the Main House, and that has the unique and fun swinging bed with a double air mattress and a lot of pillows. Gather for sunset meals on the porch’s table and seating for 6. Take a walk out the along the private dock and to end of the pier for a tranquil moment next to the water with someone special. If it’s the heat you need to escape, swimming and floating in the Bay’s calm waters is great way to cool off. Guests are welcome to bring their boat, kayaks, or canoes. Boats may tie up to the pier. The boat slip pictured usually is for the owner.Paddle boarding is also a favorite activity in Wolf Bay.

There is covered parking for two vehicles as well as a covered walkway from the parking spots to the home's entrance, a screened in breezeway porch, which connects the Main House and Guest House.

Decks around the property are lined with lush wild and native tropical plants and trees, providing abundant shade and unique Caribbean feel.

The outdoor seating and BBQ area with 4 large captain’s chairs are perfect for everyone to hang out while waiting for the beach food classics like hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. Guests are welcome to make a small fire in the metal fire pit on the deck and share so ‘mores for dessert.

The home’s driveway adjoins a quiet, low traffic cul-de-sac and is ideal for children to play. Hop on a bike trail in any direction, just few 100 feet from the cul-de-sac. In a few minutes on the area’s extensive bike trails, arrive at one of the many public beach access on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico (2 mile) or enter the beautiful Gulf State Park (.5mile ) or Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge (.5). These bike trails are great for the outdoor enthusiast and an awesome way to see the area.

Grab a coffee or an ice cream from McDonalds or a carryout pizza for the family from Pizza Hut, both just a few blocks away. A gas station/convenience store as well as a quality wine and liquor store is also walking distance from the Bay House.

Local favorite restaurant, Doc’s Seafood Shack and Oyster Bar is just one street over and has huge menu, with a variety of options, laid back atmosphere and a wonderful friendly staff. A new favorite restaurant, The Cayman Grill http://www.caymangrill.com/ is next door to The Bay House and features an excellent menu, along with beautiful ambiance. Cayman Grill hours are Monday - Wednesday 11am-9pm; Thursday-Saturday 11am-10pm; Sunday 10am-9pm.

The two best restaurants for sunsets are Flippers and Rumshakers and a few miles from the popular beach front restaurants; Flora-bama Lounge and Package store (6 miles), The Hangout (9 miles) and The Gulf (4 miles).

We hope our home offers many of the same conveniences and amenities that you would have in your own home and certainly in a vacation destination. We are happy to share it and consider it a wonderful alternative to a hotel or high-rise condominium complex. The privacy and seclusion of this property are a treat, while still close in proximity to all the area has to offer visitors. Shopping is just minutes away and includes surf and skate shops, entire stores devoted to sunglasses, name brand outlet shopping, and many restaurants.

WE DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE...

We had a very restful, relaxing week in the Wolf Bay main house. This house is a beautiful mix of eclectic and comfort. It feels like an oasis among the trees and vegetation that surround it. The only disturbance to the peacefulness of the mornings was the crew next door mowing/weed-eating at 0800, clearing the new restaurant waterfront. Nevertheless, most mornings were spent on the dock with a cup of coffee watching the sun rise over Wolf Bay. Evenings found us on the dock again, this time with fishing poles in hand.

By the way, Doc's Seafood Shack (walking distance) could very well be right when they claim to have the "Best Fried Shrimp in the Entire Civilized World"...

The only minor issue we had was actually finding the house from the directions we were given. The directions should include the knowledge that you have to turn into a street that is very clearly marked as Private.

Overall though, I would love to be able to call this place home...

GREAT STAY! SHAME ABOUT THE RESTAURANT NEXT DOOR

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here and truly hated to have to leave. The owner has obviously worked hard to make this a very special private retreat. We especially enjoyed the sunsets on the pier, the swinging porch bed, and the neat woodland experience tucked into a beach vacation! The property manager is very helpful with any difficulties (we really didn't have any though, internet went out once and was quickly fixed). The house was quiet, comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed.

Only 2 negatives:
1) Finding the street to turn in on took some work the day of arrival. When arriving we drove past it 2-3 times because the entrance street has 2 very large, official looking highway signs saying "Do Not Enter." We figured it was a one-way street or something. We finally couldn't find the right street and gave that one a shot, which ended up being the right road in.

2) There is a new restaurant going in directly next door (we saw the large vacant building from the back of our rental). The major construction during our stay was largely completed so we had no problem with noise. That being said, we were not told this was going on before renting and the management thought the restaurant had actually opened (we learned of it from reading the house's guest journal and after calling about the internet going out briefly 1 evening). While looking over the website again, it is mentioned in passing on the description, however this is going to be a big business that butts right up against the property. This is truly a shame as the restaurant, it's large open decking/seating out back of it, the long pier for boats parking to go there, etc. will unfortunately likely diminish what would otherwise be the perfect quiet place for future guests.

My wife and I actually feel cheated (not at all for our current stay which was great!) as we've finally found THE PLACE we'd love to book at Orange Beach from here on, only to have the peace and serenity of it likely diminished by a business somehow getting permission to go up in a residential area.

Overall:
This is a fantastic place to stay and NOT the sparse, well-worn type of beach rental you'd frequently see elsewhere. For example, the interesting art throughout is NOT the cheesy tourist-trap type stuff. The furniture is nice, homey, and comfortable. Noise/people from the restaurant may be a problem in the future, but were not for us. This is actually someone's home and you feel welcome and comfortable!

Owner's Response: We appreciate your thoughts regarding The Bay House and our new neighbors. Though the restaurant is currently not open, we've Expect it will possibly open in march 2014. The restaurant owner has installed a 10 ft fence along the property line and has committed to a tree barrier "that a bird could not fly through". The outdoor music at the restaurant will be subject to the city ordinances of decibels and hours. There will be a complete sound barrier between the stage and the bay house. It is hoping to attract a family type tourist. The water front in this shoreline is very shallow. While I expect there will be some increased traffic, I expect most will be from the land.

Since you visited, a very thick wood fence has been erected. Its a tall fence and guests standing on the Bay House decks cannot see over, nor through the fence. When we were recently there, following your visit, the activity next door seemed unobtrusive. Only from the second story decks could we see over to the property next door, now that the fence is up.

But as with any neighbor, we cannot control what goes surrounding our property, but hope that they'll be considerate of the proximity and sensitive to our wishes to preserve the peacefulness of The Bay House.

We intend to keep of the restaurant owner and the city administrators informed about any negative impact the restaurant has on our neighborhood. Feel free to contact us and inquire about the status of the restaurant. We hope you'll consider returning in the future.

HANGOUT FESTIVAL

The house is very comfortable and the location is awesome! The deck is a perfect location to relax and read a book. A quick walk down the pier affords some warm sunshine. There is room for a number of people without getting in each other's way. The property is clean and well-maintained. It is a quick drive to activities in Gulf Shores as well. I would highly recommend this property.

A PERFECT GETAWAY!

We have returned to the Wolf Bay house over and over during the past several years. It has an amazing feel of an artist retreat. The bay is right there, and the sleeping eating screened porch is one of my favorite napping spots in the world. Sleeps LOTS Of friends and easy to hop over to the beach as well.

THE GREAT ESCAPE

Right from the start I knew I chose the perfect place for my Orange
Beach holiday. The property is beautiful, with flowering plants and
lush trees. The guest house is a wonderful cottage, connected to the
main house by a screened in porch, a truly southern experience. The
main house has the best water view porch and my favorite spot quickly
became the swing bed, lovely. The sunsets are magnificent from the
back porch, the upstairs bedroom porch, or the end of the pier.
Dolphin could be viewed nearly everyday and night within Wolf Bay, a
lovely body of water lined with cyprus and pine trees.
The location is excellent for access to the Hugh Branyon Backcountry
trail that meanders through an ancient maritime forest. You can walk
or bicycle on the trail, bike rentals are close by. My favorite
restaurant is Cosmos, an easy stroll from the house. The beach is
right down the street, a waterfront park and the library are also an
easy stroll.
I have stayed at Wolf Bay House every season of the year, it truly is
my Great Escape!

oh my gosh...where do I begin! My family and I - husband and two children found this beach house the perfect destination. Close to everything yet very private. Lovely accommodations. Very residential appointments made us feel right at home not to mention it was spotlessly clean and right on the water. We ARE definitely going back and SOON. What great memories we have of Orange Beach...this house and Orange Beach are, our favorite destination. !!! PS did I mention it is close to everything including the Florabama and Cobalts....what a combination. Worked for us.
