The Loft is a unique private large 690 s.f. upscale cabin like structure. All of our previous guests have commented that the Loft is much bigger than it appears in pictures, that it exceeded their expectations and is much more charming than any of the pictures depict it. There is a bedroom area with a king bed, a kitchenette area equipped with small appliances, a dining area, a great living room area complete with a gas stove and a futon which converts to a bed, a single bed situated privately in a raised alcove accessed by a ship's ladder and a good sized bathroom with a generous size shower. The Loft has its own private entrance and closets. There is access to a beautiful private beach and lawn with a dock. The Loft has an outdoor grill, complete with a side burner that sits on the large private back deck in the woods, internet, air conditioning and both the back deck and front deck are both accessed by glass french doors which lets in all the light and makes one feel as if one is part of the outside. Enjoy outdoor living on your own expansive deck in the woods or on the lawn at the beach. Swim, kayak, sail or just take in the scenery and watch for the eagles and great blue herons at owners' private lakefront on Goose Pond, a large very clean and beautiful 270 acre lake of which the majority is in preservation. A short walk away (10 minutes) the Appalachian Trail provides great hiking opportunities, you can even walk around the top end of the upper lake or into the infamous Tyringham Valley! The area is spectacular. The Loft is near all of the cultural offerings of the Berkshires: Stockbridge Theatre Festival, Shakespear and Co., Norman Rockwell Museum, Jacob's Pillow, Naumkeg, Kripalu, just to mention a few. Trustees of Reservation hikes are close by too. Fantastic boutique shopping and great cafes are pleasant destinations in area towns. The Premium Outlet Village offers great outlet shopping and is just a 10 minute drive away. There are many great restaurants in the area.
We are on a beautiful lake, in the country but just a short drive to anything that you might wish to do here in the 4 season area of the beautiful Berkshires. The early summer and fall are perfect times to visit the Loft and the Berkshires in general. The area is quieter and the scenery is spectacular. Fall foliage on the lake is something not to be misted and the free standing gas stove makes the evenings in the Loft cozy and contributes to a warm and inviting atmosphere. Come and enjoy!
We have lived on Goose Pond all of our adult lives and have raised our children here. My husband actually spent summers here while growing up and has never considered living anywhere else.
Goose Pond is an incredible lake. We have always been in love with it. Goose Pond consists of 2 lakes connected by a channel. Upper Goose Pond is spectacular and is surrounded by National Park Land while much of Lower Goose Pond is in preservation too. It is a large 'mountain' lake that is very beautiful, clean, quiet and sought after by many especially those who kayak and canoe. Bird watchers will love it here. The bald eagle, great blue heron, osprey, loon and many others are seen almost daily. The lake provides great fishing and is stocked with salmon and trout and has native fish including bass as well. In the fall, the mountains around the lake provide spectacular views as does the hiking available throughout the area.
The Loft is just as cozy and comfortable as we expected it to be. We loved the design details and thoughtful, stylish decorating. The location is convenient and also quiet and lovely, and it proved to be a great central access point for our area hiking, museum, and exploring adventures. With friendly and kind hosts (plus two sweet dogs) we felt welcomed and at-home. We wish we could have stayed longer.
My husband and I were lucky enough to get away to this perfect quiet and relaxing location! The owner's daughter was always helpful and her williness to make sure we had everything was wonderful. The loft was amazing, kudos to the engineers ;) The property itself was perfect. We don't get to get away due to having a daughter with special needs (Rett Syndrome), but this mini getaway was just what we needed. The lake was stunning, I highly recommend it first thing in the morning on a fall day with a cup of coffee in hand. Thank you again, we highly recommend this property and hope to come again soon.
We had a fantastic time at the loft and couldn't have been happier with our stay. My wife and I along with our six year old loved everything about it. The loft felt like a home away from home and the owners couldn't have made us feel more welcome. We loved the area and the property was beautiful! The lake was perfect for swimming, boating and relaxing. The Puntins are gracious hosts and it was a pleasure to stay at their property. We look forward to a return visit. The location is very convenient to the Mass Pike and it was very easy exploring the nice towns in the area like Lee, Lenox, Stockbridge and Great Barrington.
This cozy loft is set on a beautiful and serene lake. French doors open on either end of the studio with balconies to enjoy the sun and water view. Very welcoming owners, offering us their kayaks and plenty of information on the surrounding area. The local towns have great scenic drives and nice hiking trails. Local eatery- Great Barrington Brewery offered good selection of beer in a laid back atmosphere. A great relaxing weekend, would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a nice escape :)
We spent a nice short little vacation at the Loft, and were very pleased with our stay. The hosts did everything to provide best accomodations and comfort. The loft itself was perfect for a family stay (2 adults and 2 teenagers), and has everything one needs for a vacation away from home - including a small portable electric stove, which came in very handy for making a quick dinner after a day of skiing. We'd gladly return to this place for another stay.
My wife and I made a last minute decision to spend a long weekend in the Berkshires to enjoy a bit of nature, fishing, dining and theatre. I am so fortunate that my internet search led me to The Loft on Goose Pond! It was quaint, comfortable, clean and truly unique in design. Our hosts, Tim & Gail, were friendly and welcomed us upon arrival. I was quite excited to do some fishing on Goose Pond so I brought up a trolling motor, charger & battery. [Tim supplied the row boat!] The fishing was quite good but unfortunately my newly purchased charger malfunctioned after the first day. Not to worry. Tim graciously loaned me his own charger for my battery. I would recommend this rental without any hesitation. It is also very conveniently located to Lee, Stockbridge, Lenox, etc. Thanks for a great weekend Tim & Gail!
