'Leap of Faith' is a beautiful North Carolina log home just outside of Wilkesboro, completed in 2010.
Just 30-45 min. to Boone/Blowing Rock area!!
This new log home is in a private, secluded & gated community with gorgeous views of the NC mountains. There are numerous hiking trails as well as a community center overlooking a creek with waterfall!
This lovingly decorated home is your own private retreat with top quality bedding in two large bedrooms including a private loft with views. Gourmet kitchen, cozy living areas, jetted tub, all surrounded by expansive porches and deck with a view to captivate and relax you. You'll never want to leave your rocking chair! 38 miles to Blowing Rock & Boone NC
Wilkesboro NC is approximately 12 miles away.
12 miles to Merlefest - Wilkes Community College
86 miles to Charlotte NC
55 miles to Winston-Salem NC
Near the Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone & Blowing rock (art galleries, restaurants, and ski resorts) or just about any other activity you desire. Great opportunities for day trips nearby, while being able to get away from it all too!
We are a typical 'late middle-age' couple fortunate enough to have made the dream of a home in the mountains a reality. We are both NC natives and live on the outskirts of Charlotte NC and wanted to be able to get away from it all. This home fulfilled that dream and so much more. We'd like to share that dream with others like ourselves. We didn't just buy it -- we BUILT it! We truly treasure our property and know that if you stay here, you will treat it with the same care that we do.[Directions and access codes are sent about two weeks prior to arrival so you can find us!]
Chuck Andrews purchased this cabin in 2010
We enjoy the Boone / Blowing Rock area but wanted to get away from the city. Wilkesboro provided the perfect setting, just 30-45 min.away yet with a rural feel. If you are looking for that special place to unwind, look no further. We chose NO TV or Internet for just that reason. This is the place to get back into nature and revitalize. Turn off the gadgets and relax!
This is what you love about the mountains -- miles and miles of unobstructed views to bring back those memories of 'going to the mountains' from childhood! We love children -- however, we recommend our cabin only for adults but can make exceptions. Please contact us for details.
Note: Snow is not common in Boomer since we are at a lower elevation than Boone/Blowing Rock, but if it does snow in winter, 4-wheel drive is recommended!
When the leaves are out, there is still a fantastic view but the feel is akin to being in a treehouse.
This was our first stay at Leap of Faith, and we will definitely come back. This cabin is beautiful. The furnishings are cottage/cabin chic and eclectic. The stainless steel appliances are all nice & new, and it is very clean! Since you never know if the pictures you see on line are an accurate depiction of the home, we were surprised at how spacious the home is. The loft upstairs has a door, which was also a bonus. There are lots of pretty lamps throughout the home, so you don't feel like you are in a cave...as you do in some cabins. The view is-as everyone in these reviews will attest-simply amazing. I am a serious cook, so to be safe I always bring my own pans. But in this case, I did not need to...they have plenty of pans and knives and gadgets in the kitchen. Plenty of kitchen towels, as well. We were hard-pressed to find anything whatsoever wrong with this home. We were able to hike around the cabin and found a beautiful stream that winds through the entire area. It was nice to not have to drive anywhere to hike and to enjoy the scenery. The gas fireplace kept us warm and cozy at night while we read and played games. Two thumbs up for leap of faith. Chuck & Bennie were great to work with, too!
This was my second stay at "Leap of Faith", and I'm sure it will be the second of many more. Chuck and Bennie have thought of everything and spared nothing. This cabin is fully equipped with every amenity that one would need to simply kick-back, relax and enjoy the mountain escape. The first thing you'll notice upon arrival is the cleanliness. Everything looks brand new, and there is no sense of "wear and tear" anywhere (which is seemingly such a rarity for a rental). The next thing you'll notice is how nice everything is. They have impeccable taste and the décor is understated but extremely nice. The furnishing are just perfect in size and comfort, and the beds are some of the most comfortable you'll ever sleep in. The kitchen is fully equipped and is nothing you won't find even if you are the most astute cook. It truly is a home away from home. The fireplace is the cherry on the cake, and turning it off and on with a digital remote is just too cool. Of course, it wouldn't make it what it is without the spectacular view. When you first open the drapes to the deck that runs along the side and back-side of the cabin, you won't be able to help the number of times you say "Wow" or "Oh my goodness" or "Oh, this is really nice". Is just spectacular. In fact, despite how nice the interior of the cabin is, it wouldn't be tough to understand why most guests probably spend the majority of their time sitting in the rocking chairs overlooking the mountains. After all, not many people head to the mountains to sit indoors. The pictures on this site don't even do the view justice. You need to see it for yourself, and if you do, you'll be glad you did. This truly is a little piece of heaven.
This was our second stay and will not be our last! The owners and cabin are wonderful!
We rented this cabin because we were in NC for the New River half marathon/5k and it was absolutely perfect! Watched the sunrise before the race, right as you walk out on to the gorgeous wrap around porch. The house itself is absolutely beautiful, and a perfect getaway for anyone who is seeking a serene escape. The bed was by far the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and the attention to detail inside of the house is beautiful. My favorite part of the rental was the nature; sitting on the porch looking out at the mountains, looking out at the stars and even another planet(it is that clear!), watching the sunrise, and dealing with Chuck and Bennie, who were exceptionally easy to work with in booking the rental and accommodating our needs. Overall, this was exactly what we were looking for and turned out to be the perfect weekend!
From the minute we booked our stay we have received the best service from Chuck and Bennie. They were very prompt in responding to my emails previous to the trip and were easy to reach and eager to answer our questions.
The Blue Ridge mountains have always been a special place for me. When we arrived at LOF the sun had gone down and from the deck you could see the beautiful lights from town. It was truly magical.
The home itself was beautifully decorated, warm, inviting, and provided the perfect view to really enjoy the majesty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was tucked away and very private, creating the feeling of having your own piece of the mountain. The kitchen was well equipped and we ate in for most of our stay. The bathrooms were well stocked and the beds slept like a dream. I agree with the other guests, the pictures just don't do the views justice. This home is a wonderful place to stay.
In addition to being a beautiful place, LOF will hold a special place in our hearts for years to come. On our first nights stay my highschool sweetheart proposed. I can't imagine a more perfect setting.
A big thank you to Chuck and Bennie for all their assistance. We look forward to staying here again in the years to come.
You just can't go wrong staying at this cabin. You come to the area to be in this environment-gorgeous backyard scenery, serenity, luxurious accommodations. Upscale kitchen with granite countertops (in bathrooms, too), stainless steel appliances, jacuzzi bathtub, extremely comfortable beds/sofa for lounging. It is close enough to the Boone area to have a nice getaway for your son/daughter at Appalachian. Also, the owners are very helpful, courteous, want-to-make-sure-you-are-happy attitude. Don't let the absence of tv or wi-fi detract you. It is actually a plus-bring your favorite music, a book you have been wanting to read, and your walking shoes. 5-star accommodations at a great value!
