About Christine Peres=Pena
I am an architect working in the movie, television and
theatre business as an Art Director, Set Designer and PropMaster in Los Angeles--the world movie mecca !!! Otherwise I would be in my beloved desert, which is highly inspirational to me for its beauty, stillness and elegance.
I bought this house for my future retirement and hope to live there in my golden years. This 'Casita' is a long term investment for me and you as my guests are helping me do this--so I thank you !!!
Christine Peres=Pena purchased this cottage in 2000
Why Christine Peres=Pena chose Palm Desert
Ten years ago I often wondered why super stars such as Frank Sinatra. Marilyn Monroe, Gene Autry and many others found the desert so fascinating. I started visiting the Spa Hotel(Now the Agua Caliente Desert Spa Hotel) with its natural hot desert springs and would often visit the desert for its spiritual and physical fortification .
Eventually, I felt I would like to eventually live here in my golden years, so I bought this beautiful 'Casita'.
What makes this cottage unique
The desert is a very healthy environment with natural,
heated waters from the earth that are naturally healing.
There are local areas with natural Hot Springs such as in Desert Hot Springs minutes from my house.
Also minutes from 'La Casita' are excellent and prestigious art galleries and artists studios. To me this
is very important because I am an artist and designer
and I learn and I'm inspired by all these amazing artists.
Of course the desert itself with its gorgeous fauna and
flora, as well as majestic mountain views, sand formations, sand dunes and amazing sunsets are a great
creative force that has a great impact.
