LOCATED INSIDE A MISSOURI VINEYARD, PET-FRIENDLY & FREE KAYAKING

Camdenton House Rental Photos and Description

2 bedroom 2 bath, park-like setting on the quiet side of the Niangua Arm.

You'll love the tranquil feeling you get when you see the 'million dollar' view this house has to offer! Spend days and nights gazing out over the Big Niangua arm of the Lake of the Ozarks and watching the boating and jetski activity, right from the privacy of your house.

This newly renovated (2012) 2 bedroom / 2 bath house is located at the Sugarloaf Vineyards west of Camdenton right where the Big Niangua tributary changes from a river to the Lake of the Ozarks. For larger groups we have a sister property next door that is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath and sleeps 6 to 10 people (VRBO listing 456932).

You'll be 'lured' to the Lake where the fishing is amazing for catfish, bass, crappie and walleye. Or play golf at either of two courses, Lake Valley Country club or Old Kinderhook (a Tom Weiskoph signature course). The master bedroom has a queen size bed, brand new flat screen TV, WIFI, and a picture perfect view of the Lake. The en-suite master bathroom has a walk-in shower and a washer/dryer. There is also a fold out futon in the Master bedroom for your kids or extra guest. The guest bedroom offers a queen bed and a flat screen TV.

The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, range, microwave and side bar for your favorite beverages. Ceilings are tongue and groove cedar milled from trees right off the property and give you that quaint, cabin-like and fresh smell of cedar! Enjoy dinners inside in the dining area or outside on the private patio amongst the grapevines so you don't miss the beautiful weather and wildlife! Or, walk to the vineyard tasting bar and enjoy a bottle of wine and unique food pairings as a lunch or dinner alternative.

The living room is spacious and outfitted with a new flat screen TV for your viewing pleasure and a DVD player for late night movies. There is a fold out couch for kids or extra guests in the living room.

One of the best features of this property is the easy access to the Lake of the Ozarks. Nestled within the vines of the Sugarloaf Vineyard property you can walk to the Lake shore and enjoy the picnic grounds, fishing, or kayaking activities. You have free access to either a single or tandem kayak for the length of your stay (a $105.00 value) and can pack a nice picnic lunch and your favorite beverages to enjoy while leisurely paddling the Niangua! There is also a charcoal grill and private patio located just behind the house.

No matter what your perception of a perfect vacation is, you won't be disappointed with the relaxation and serene feeling you will have when you leave this refreshing property!

Owners are Ward & Barb Morris who moved to the Lake in 1985 and raised our 3 children in one of the most beautiful locales in the U.S.! Barb owned and operated several Lake area restaurants over the past 27 years and enjoys the fine art of cooking and especially, pairing food with wine! Ward takes weekend breaks from his Computer Consulting career to tend to over 1000 grapevines on the property and looks forward each fall to harvest time.

Barb Morris purchased this house in 2000

This property is adjacent to Ward & Barb's home and was purchased to expand the vineyard and now, opening in May of 2013, the Sugarloaf Vineyard Tasting bar with food pairings, occasional music and great friends! Our motto has always been, 'come to our place and we'll treat you like family'!

We fell in love with the quiet of the Lake and especially the Niangua Arm tributary with it's amazing wildlife. During the month February you can often spot as many as 700 great white Pelicans feeding on Lake fish for as long as 2 weeks as they migrate. This actually inspired the name of one of Sugarloaf Vineyards wines; the White Pelican, a dry white Chardonel. Other birdlife includes the great bald eagle, blue herons, egrets, seagulls, hawks, owls and host of other. In March, you can spot beautiful red foxes siring their new pups and of course, several deer like to walk through the vineyard and eat Ward's grapes (to his chagrin)! It's a great family setting for renunions or to get away from the city.

SPLENDID, INVITING, AND SECLUDED

  • 5 of 5
Sheer scenic beauty, mixed in with outstanding hospitality from owners Barb and Ward,
make this the perfectly relaxing and fun vacation of a lifetime. Our two girl dogs were welcomed with open paws! The Winery location is great to visit day or evening for truly good home cooked food, and absolutely wonderful wine made on the premise. We were surrounded by a pristine vineyard that enhances the beauty and makes the taste buds jump for joy. You can golf, kayak, jet ski, or simply relax, read, and breathe in the beauty of this dream vacation. Sit by the fire at night in your private back yard and eat S'mores like nobody is looking. Hit a few golf balls at sunset over the lake. Barb and Ward went out of their way to make us feel welcome at the home away from home.
Cheers Dears! Come on down to the Ozark area, but don't expect a tourist trap, this place is wonderful. Mark and Heather were wonderful cooks and bartenders with a friendly smile and a great wine tasting intimate party for a small family. Everyone was
GREAT, and this was a GREAT vacation. We HIGHLY recommend visiting Barb and Ward Morris.

LOVED THIS GEM AND COULDN'T RECOMMEND IT MORE!

Loved this gem and couldn't recommend it more!
  • 5 of 5
We stayed at Sugarloaf Vineyard for our honeymoon. It was perfect and exactly what we wanted! It was so much more relaxing that being at a crowded resort with a ton of strangers and a hundred other newlywed couples. Everyone who worked for the property was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Chardonnel House and it was perfect for us. It was renovated a couple of years ago and is still in great condition. We stayed Monday-Friday and never felt like we were crowded or our privacy was invaded when others visited the winery or rented kayaks. We enjoyed the view and several of the wines offered at the wine tasting pavilion too.

We took the kayaks out one morning and floated in the water while soaking up some sun and reading. The cove was pretty quiet so we weren't constantly bouncing around from the wake of boats or jet skis. We also visited Ha Ha Tonka State Park that was a 7 minute drive and Bridal Cave which was maybe 15-20 minutes away. Anything we wanted to do was an easy drive. We went up to the Boathouse in Osage Beach (35 minutes away from Sugarloaf) one day and stayed for hours by the pool on the water.

We cannot recommend this trip to our friends and family enough. We have absolutely no complaints!

We had a great time at sugarloaf even though it rained almost the entire time we were there. My children loved using the kayaks and the scenery was beautiful.

VERY RELAXING!

  • 5 of 5
We definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house to friends! The owners were very welcoming and respectful of our privacy. The house was clean and updated. We loved grilling out and sitting by the fire pit! Short walk down the (steep) driveway to the water and kayaks was great exercise! Can't wait to visit again.

PEACEFUL AND WONDERFUL

  • 5 of 5
Quiet nights, fishing, kayaking, fires, star gazing, and memories to last. The wine and food are a perfect end of each day. Very impressed with owners and staff on site. A gem of a picnic area. House is a great set up, cedar is awesome, plenty of space and everything you could ask for.
