We had a great time, loved the game room and several kitchens and bathrooms! We had 12 people and there was tons of room. It was very clean. The owner was helpful and welcoming and easy to get and keep in touch with. We spend a cold winter weekend cross country skiing and hiking. It was great! Traverse City was very close and we were able to go out to eat as well.
Owner's Response: We are so happy you had a great time and we hope you all come back this summer. Thank you for the wonderful review. Diana, Tom, John & Michelle Wright

Large entertainment basement, 2 full-duty kitches, lake-view, however lack of bedrooms

The property is beautiful from the outside with good location, the wrap around porch is nice, and the walk out deck from both sides of the house is superb both on evening and mornings (you wake up with the sunrise through the windows). The property is a duplex, with a great basement shared in the middle. It is spacious, with a nice television, plenty of couches to watch, billiards, darts, card table, as well as fridge and bathroom in the basement. We stayed as a large group 14 of us, and the property can accodomate sleeping upto 16, however there are only 2 bedrooms - each containing a queen bed. The rest of the sleeping arrangements are either pull out couches, fold out couches, or foutons. For us it wasn't a large problem, we were a group of late 20's couples, up north near Traverse for a wine-tasting weekend and wanted to watch the leaves change colors. Approximately 6 people had to sleep in the basement close to each other on foutons. I can see privacy being an issue for some people. However, other than that, and unfortunately that it rained that we did not get to use the outside firepit, the house is gorgeous, w/ 2 beautiful new kitchens - we utilized both to make cooking easier for our large group. There are 2 showers and 3 bathrooms in the place which was also handy. I would definitely recommend this location, and house for anyone, of all age groups. The owners were easy to talk to and accomodating and even refunded the fire-wood we purchased since we didn't get to use it. They have all the tools, cleaning supplies, etc, one would want to leave the place in great condition. Also plenty of parking outside the house. Definitely lots of attration and amenities, and the view from the bedrooms overlooking the lake are gorgeous. 4 Stars - with the only knock being 2 individual bedrooms, but the house is honestly really beautiful, nice modern wood cabin. It had functioning and fast wifi as well, btw!

I recently stayed at High Lake Lodge with my family of 3 and another family of 4. The lodge was beautiful, everything seemed brand new. The accommodations were perfect for the two families, with 2 separate apartments upstairs and an adjourning game room in the lower-level. Our teen children bunked downstairs with plenty of available futons and roll-out beds. The lodge is less than 10 minutes from town, convenient to all Traverse City has to offer. Diana, the owner, was very helpful and attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend High Lake Lodge!

Great place!

Five friends and I stayed here in late August, 2013. Everyone was very impressed with the house. High Lake is a quiet, peaceful place to relax, and with two docks plus boats to enjoy there's plenty to do by the water. The layout of the house is ideal for multiple families and when it's time to go inside the basement is set up perfectly to entertain a group. There's also a large deck with plenty of seating and a very nice grill. Nearby we found a great pub and a park with trails. Downtown Traverse City isn't too far off. I highly recommend High Lake Lodge and hope to return next year.

Magnificent Lodge!

The winter photos hide the natural beauty of this property. It is beautifully appointed and very spacious. Diana took care of everything, including having firewood for our nightly bonfires. The two kitchens had everything you could possibly want (waffle irons, crock pots, kitchen aid mixer....) and the nearby Meijer had everything we needed to stock the shelves.

The lake was so quiet that we felt like it was our private lake. We had five kids with us, ages 7, 9, 11, 12, and 14. They loved the lake trampoline and fishing off the dock. The adults and kids loved the paddle board (the lake was very calm, so it was easy for those of us new to paddle boarding to keep balance.) We also had kayak races across the lake, it was the perfect size for non-motor vessels. The paddle-boat was also a lot of fun, we used it as a water taxi across the lake.

This was a very serene retreat from the city, I would recommend this place to everyone that I know. It is well worth the price.
