2 Bedroom/2 Bath (sleeps 4) Home Just Steps Away From Glacier National Park!

This brand new vacation home built in 2013 is conveniently located 1 1/2 miles from the town of West Glacier; 2 miles from the entrance gate to Glacier National Park. The home is on a lovely wooded property. When you exit your home to go to the park, you are there within a blink of an eye! Internet and great cell phone service is available at the home.

Geothermal air conditioning or heat is available for your comfort, whatever the season. Plush wine colored leather sofa and love seat provide comfort in the great room. Custom made locally crafted log night stands, with drawers for your personal items, are next to each side of the king size beds. This home is designed with your convenience and privacy in mind - basically two separate suites with their own entrances and baths to accommodate up to four guests in your traveling group. The home is all one level so there are no stairs to traverse, or lofts. Each bedroom has it's own entrance so you can come and go as you please. A hallway door closes off one bedroom and bath from the rest of the home. Your luxury baths include 6 foot tubs with grab bars if you need some extra balance. Premium king size Sealy Posturepedic beds await, ready to provide the rest and comfort you'll need for your exploration of paradise! Bedrooms offer extra deep closets with sliding mirror doors. Each room of the home has a view of the woods and the privacy that surround the home.

There are many restaurants in the area or just cook your own meals in your new kitchen. The large pantry will give you extra space. Enjoy the morning sun from your breakfast table in the separate dining room. When you return from your day of adventure, dine or barbecue with a view of the sunset, relax in the great room, plan your next day from the library showcasing the area, or just kick back and watch the local news or a great movie. Glacier Park is so close you can even return home to prepare lunch or return for a beautiful evening at Lake McDonald after dinner. Take a swim in warm Lake Five nearby or a whitewater trip with any of the raft companies who will give you an unforgettable experience on the river wild! Historic Belton Chalet, the first lodge built near Glacier Park in 1910, is 1 1/2 miles from the home and has incredible fine dining, a great cozy pub, an a warm fireplace to take care of any of those chilly evenings.

I was born in Whitefish, Montana. My family owned and operated the Hungry Horse Motel for 30 years, so I grew up 10 miles from Glacier National Park. What a playground! I purchased this never lived on, densely wooded property in West Glacier in 1994, always having the dream to build a vacation home. Finally! In 2013, West Glacier Vacation Home opened. I hope my dream will be part of your dream!

I chose this location to build a home on because of it's proximity to Glacier Park. There are so many things to enjoy here seasonally. Ride bikes, walk, or hike on the Going to the Sun Highway in the spring before it is open to vehicles. Spring ski at Logan Pass and be mesmerized. X-C Going to the Sun in the winter and see unbelievable views and quiet that is unsurpassed. I want to share it with you - this area has so much to offer. It is spectacular!

EXCELLANT LOCATION TO GLACIER PARK ENTRANCE WITH VERY COMFORTABLE HOME

  • 5 of 5
We really enjoyed staying in this home. This home was so nice and clean. The bedrooms were a good size with their own bath room. The owner is very friendly and does not bother you while you are staying here. You can call her if you need to.The appliances are all nice and newer.I enjoyed having the dishwasher and the washer/dryer all newer ones. This home is in a perfect location and is in a peaceful neighborhood location, yet still secluded. We enjoyed staying here for three nights, and would recommend our friends to stay here.If we get this way again,we would definitely rent from Darlene again. This home is in like new condition and is nicely decorated.

AMAZING OWNER/RENTAL

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at the gorgeous home for only one night in Sept, but it was the most amazing night we have ever spent anywhere. Darlene was so welcoming and made us feel like family when we arrived. The home is close to everything (especially the park) and is well worth any amount to stay there. We WILL be back (hopefully sooner than later) and when we do come back, we will hope and pray the home is available. It is a perfect place for not only adults but children as well (full kitchen as well as two full baths, laundry room). It's a full home, and so much more comfortable than staying in a hotel. Darlene thank you again so much for allowing us the use of your home and we can't wait to see you again.

WONDERFUL LODGING

  • 5 of 5
Our stay there was excellent. My family and I stayed there for a total of two nights and three days. The house has very spacious rooms along with a convenient kitchen and bathrooms. Everything was neat, clean, and comfortable when we arrived. The owner was very thoughtful and explained to us each of the faculties, as well as provided us with advice. It was great lodging. The only expectation is to have internet as there was none.

GREAT LODGING OPTION

  • 5 of 5
We had a terrific stay at this cabin, we stayed there for one week. Darlene, the owner of the cabin, is a wonderful host - unintrusive and friendly at the same time. The instructions she gives - on how to find the cabin, how to use appliances, DVD player, air conditioner, etc - are the most comprehensive and easily understood instructions I have seen in my life. The cabin turned out to be exactly how it was advertised. Location is very convenient if you plan most of your activities in West Glacier park area or around Going-to-the Sun Road. The cabin is more like a big good house, freshly built, with brand new appliances, including dishwasher and washer and dryer. Two large bedrooms with two bathrooms. Beds are super comfortable, king size. Bedding is like in a 5 star hotels. Really! There is a grill outside, works on propane. We cooked elk burgers, and they turned out to be terrific. Tip: get the meat (whatever meat you wish - elk, buffalo, beef etc, or fish for this matter) at the store "Perfect Cuts" in Columbia Falls, which is probably about 10 miles from the cabin. Overall - exceeding our expectations. Hope to be back one day!

AWESOME CABIN

  • 5 of 5
This is the first time we have rented a cabin and we picked a gem. My wife and I and another couple shared this cabin for 4 nights. It is the perfect set up for two couples to share, with separate bedrooms and baths. You keep your own privacy while still have a lots of shared space. The location is ideal, close to Glacier, shops, restaurants, and towns while still have quiet and secluded surroundings. We would highly recommend this property as a vacation spot.

WONDERFUL HOUSE/OWNER/LOCATION - COULDN'T HAVE BEEN BETTER

Wonderful House/Owner/Location - couldn't have been better
  • 5 of 5
House is brand new, super clean and super functional. The location is ideal-about 1/2 hr from airport, & within 5 min can be in W Glacier & Apgar Village/Lake McDonald (where girls swam and skipped rocks three different days - also rented kayaks/canoe here). Dinner at Belton Chalet ($$ but so good) and breakfast at Highland Conoco right in W Glacier. Also ate breakfast and dinner at Backyard Oasis (across hwy) and San Suz Ed (waffles & cinnamon rolls) minutes away. Ate 3 times at Glacier Grill in Coram, again only minutes away the opposite direction. Close to rafting (we did Great Northern with Noah) and Helicopter rides (Glacier HeliTours - $$ but saw a lot - do the 1 hr if you're going to do it). We hiked to Avalanche Lake (our longest hike about 3 hrs roundtrip), as well as Hidden Lake Overlook and part of the Highline Trail(must do, even if only an hour or so) from Logan Pass. Also, St Mary's Falls, Eagle Falls and Many Glacier area - the Lodge is beautiful - had a late lunch there and girls swam. Got an inside tip from a ranger for a swimming spot at St Mary's Lake, and lots of little stops along the way. At Whitefish Resort, ziplined, which was good but had to hike a bit between runs and carry your own trolley which took some of the enjoyment out of it, and the girls favorite thing of the trip, the Aerial Adventure). With so much activity crammed into a week, having the house to come back to definitely enhanced our trip. The beds were extremely comfortable, and hubby liked ceiling fan for sleeping. I liked the pantry for food, washer/dryer for stinky hiking clothes and two bathrooms with 11 yr old girls! Darlene, the owner, is super. Emailed me with answers to questions, planning etc. Met us at house to greet and give tour, and has extras with traveler in mind; coolers to borrow, books/brochures, movies, bear spray to borrow and even old towels to use which we took in car for when girls swam in cold lakes. If this home is available for your dates, I would definitely reserve it.

Your cabin in the woods is located in a private area 1 1/2 miles from West Glacier, entrance to Glacier National Park. You can depart your mountain retreat and walk to restaurants, a bistro, or fine dining at the historic Belton Chalet and Pub. West Glacier offers raft companies, a grocery store, gas stations, and even a post office to send those post cards home. Isaac Walton, sitting on the Continental Divide, is a worthwhile trip on the south side of Glacier Park, featuring a railroad stop, complete with boxcars and a theme pub and restaurant with photos of the rich history surrounding the area. Hungry Horse Dam is only 10 miles from the home; this is the 11th largest dam in the world and is worth seeing. You can actually ride up and down in an elevator inside of the dam itself! Drive over the dam and enter the Bob Marshall Wilderness and the 50 mile long reservoir that holds the snow melt and moisture eventually flowing into the Pacific Ocean. The San Suz Ed is a mile from the cabin, a mainstay in the area, featuring mouthwatering specialties that you will just have to try for yourself. Lake McDonald Lodge is minutes away, so you can listen to the piano bar or take a cruise on the lake that is offered at the Lodge. An easy boardwalk adventure awaits at the Trail of the Cedars. Ask the owner any questions you may have.
