*********** Attention International Travelers *********
We have opened the Cottage to International Travelers!
The Lake Champlain Islands are located next to everything North East and Canada! Montreal is less than an hour away and you have Boston and NYC a few hours away!
To our British visitors that travel to STOWE, VT each year. Stowe is an hour South on I-89 or you can cut across Smugglers Notch and come on up to The Islands through Swanton to Alburg to North Hero - very scenic! You can stay on the Lake and enjoy Stowe and visit Montreal or just relax and enjoy the pristine beauty of Lake Champlain on North Hero's Fabulous Pelots Point a Peninsula facing WEST to New York and SUNSETS!
Become part of our Family and The Cottages History! We wish we could have the same Vacation Seekers Annually to get to know you as family and friends! I hope this become s reality! Rebecca and I are putting back the money we take in into the property! We have so many wonderful ideas and plans! We will share these plans with our guests this year!
Our Lovely 2nd home is a 2-Bedroom and Studio Room can serve as a 3rd Bedroom, Has 1 bathroom and is located right on The Pelots Peninsula on Lake Champlain away from any busy traffic. So quiet you can hear the air underneath the Chickadee's wings push as they fly! No Transformers or Power line hum, No light pollution and a Stargazers Paradise! With 100 feet of Private Lake Frontage facing west to marvelous Adirondack Sunsets you and your pets can enjoy a wonderful swim and watch the boats sail by! We have an outdoor fire pit and provide wood! The Cottage now boasts a Cathedral Ceiling with 6 Sky Windows, Loft Bedroom with 2 Sky Windows. Peaceful, Quiet, Breezy, Relaxing location to Decompress. Stunning Sunsets and Moonlight in Vermont with the Moon setting above Isle Lamotte await you!
Rebecca and I are investing in the Cottage to make it the most pleasant stay you could possibly enjoy at such a precious location. There are other lovely properties in North Hero. Check them out and see if they compare to our LOCATION on the Open Lake! Great surf sound on windy days! Truly a paradise in an unspoiled area of Vermont. The Champlain Islands are one of Vermont's BEST KEPT SECRETS by those who choose to live here and purchase a 2nd home. The Vermont Islands are in a Banana Belt where the temperature is warmer than the mainland. Last May 7th it was in the high 70's! Summer in Early Spring.
The Cottage is a short walk to the North Hero Marina, a few miles ride to Hero's Welcome Store, Route 2 & I-89 which can bring you north to Montreal, Canada in less than an hour or south to Burlington, VT in 40 minutes. Hiking trails, VT State Parks with Sand Beaches close by. Great location for SUMMER Boating/Kayaking, Walking, Jogging, Cycling and Bird Watching.
Steven & Rebecca
We are both Professionals who work with people with Developmental Disabilities and I also am a Guitarist who has just released my Debut Album Acoustic Memories. www.stevendwightlongemusic.com If you like the sound of the Acoustic Guitar then my website and music is a must listen! Listen free on my website!
We initially purchased this property to get away from all the noise that city life bombards you with. I now have a Recording Studio! It offers total peace and quiet for recording. Rebecca enjoys reading books here, bird watching, walking, swimming, and biking. She enjoys the serenity of the location and the whistling of wind through the many mature cedars (hence the name Cedarvale Lane!) Rebecca and I pictured above.
A Romantic Getaway! You are out of the city light canopy up here. Great for stargazing! There are rarely any emergency vehicle siren noise. Very, Very quiet and peaceful. You're with Nature in the Northern Champlain Islands! We heard the Loons again May 18th. Skiers - heads up - we are opening the cottage for Winter 2014!
Not far is Burlington, where there is live entertainment at the Flynn Theatre. The Church Street Marketplace for Shopping and Dining. You can utilize the Bike Path that stretches from Burlington to the Champlain Islands - South Hero. We have biked this route many times from our Shelburne home to the Islands having lunch at Seb's Snack Bar. Very scenic you'll love it!
