Master bedroom with queen ben, and bath. 2nd bedroom has twin beds, and bath. Washer, dryer, kitchen utensils, sheets, towels. Ground floor, walk from lanai to pool about 25 steps.

About Bill Kuzmer

My folks bought this in 1988. They used to go from Washington state every winter for 2 or 3 months after my dad retired. They are both gone now, so my sister and I are keeping the place in the family, so our kids and grandkids can enjoy it as we have.

Why Bill Kuzmer chose Poipu

Kauai is the least crowded of the major Hawaiian islands. We love the slow pace. The south side of Kauai is the driest part of the island. World famous Poipu Beach is about a 3 minute drive, or 15 minute walk away. Koloa town is a 5 minute drive away. There are small grocery stores, a pharmacy, various shops, and great little resturants. The Hyatt Resort is a 15 minute walk away.

What makes this condo unique

My mom used to say how she loved the 'soft air', a very accurate description of the pleasant evenings sipping a beverage of choice, as the sun sets in the ocean. Many people live here full time, so it's way more like a 'home' than just a motel room. All units are individually owned, so they are all a bit different. Ours is rated an 'A' unit by Castle Resorts, which is the highest rating possible. 'B', and 'C' units may have few, if any upgrades. Friendly staff can help with just about anything.

On the southernmost part of the island of Kauai, enjoy the rare opportunity to view both sunrise and sunset. In the winter months watch the spouting whales go by. Explore the beautiful sands of Keoniloa Bay and Shipwreck beach just to the east, Poipu beach and Brennecke's just to the west. This oceanfront all suite property consists of beautifully furnished condos. There is a swimming pool hydro spa, tennis court and barbeque area. Visit the Fern Frotta, Spouting Horn, and the beaches of 'Blue Hawaii'. 15 minute walk to Poipu Bay Golf Course, where the 'Grand Slam' tournament was played for several years.

My sister and I own this particular unit. It is on the ground floor, only steps from the swimming pool. There are two full baths with walk in showers with rails in both. The master bedroom has a king bed, the 2nd has twins. This has been a family home for over 20 years. Waher, dryer, dishes, micro, pots and pans, utensils, towels, sheets. A quiet place to just put up the feet and RELAX.

I have stayed at this condo many times over the years. Every time I come here it is harder to leave. The recent updates are a welcome vision, as it is so sunny and warm inside. The owners should mention that Internet is now wireless. Steps to the pool, a short walk to Poipu Beach or, in the other direction, a cliff-side able to the Hyatt for a morning coffee, sunset cocktail at "the point" and some fish on the grill make for the perfect holiday. I love staying here and would highly recommend it to anyone.

This is a fantastic place to stay and a great location. The unit and property is very clean and well maintained. I have stayed at the Makahuena many times and this is my favorite unit. It is close to the pool, beaches, restaurants, and grocery stores. This place always feels like home, very relaxing. Also, there is a great place for barbecues. I can't wait for our return stay in August. Mahalo to Bill and Liz.

Wonderful place to stay

This was the perfect place to make our home away from home while on the island. There is plenty of room to relax and the view of the ocean is wonderful. The condo has been well cared for. We had a couple of minor issues come up and Bill and Liz were very fast in responding to take care of things.

We were here to visit family but the location is perfect for traditional vacationing as well. There is no doubt that we would choose to stay here again.
