Overview

Goodview House Rental Photos and Description

Lakefront 3 BR, 2.5 bath home with large deck and gameroom.

Enjoy your lake vacation in our beautiful 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home. Large, open floorplan combining kitchen, dining, and living room overlooking the lake. A first floor game room with laundry and a half bath, two bedrooms on the main floor, and a loft master with ensuite bath and jetted tub!

Imagine waking up to longwater views and enjoying your morning coffee out on the deck surrounded by peace and tranquility. For breakfast, either fix it your self in the fully stocked kitchen designed specifically so you catch the full view of the lake while cooking on the electric, flat top Jenn Aire stove, or call in a hot breakfast order and pick it up at Diamond Hill General Store, a short 5 minute drive away.

Spend the day fishing off the splinterless Trex dock, sunbathing on the dock's upper level, or swimming in the warm, clear water of the lake. Hop in the canoe or paddleboat and explore the shoreline without all the boat traffic of the main channels. Or if you brought your boat or jet ski, there is an extra slip in the dock just for you! (If you didn't bring a boat or jet ski, rentals are available at the marina about a 20 minute drive away).

Anyone up for a game of ping pong or foosball? Try out the ping pong or foosball tables in the game room for a bit of fun, or to pass the time while doing laundry. (A full size washer and dryer are in the laundry closet of the game room).

Perhaps you'd rather go in to Bedford and explore the little antique shops or head to the marina to people watch and feed the catfish. Either direction, it's about a 20 minute drive.

After watching the sunset, head out to the drive-in (yes, an actual drive-in movie theater!) with a full service diner! Of course, if you'd rather watch a movie at home, select one of ours or grab one from the Red Box at the Food Lion (10 minute drive), pop it in the Blu Ray player to watch it on the large 3D flat panel television while relaxing on the oversized L shaped sofa in the great room!

Winding down for the evening? Take a nice long soak in the jetted tub in the master suite before climbing into the comfy, cozy, king size pillow top mattress bed. You'll drift right off to sleep. And don't worry about the rest of the family, they will have their own queen size pillow top mattress beds to sleep on!

To find out what is going on at the lake during your visit, check out the SML Chamber of Commerce Calendar of Events at http://business.visitsmithmountainlake.com/events/calendar/.

About The Owner

Jeff and Kim live in Virginia and built this house as a vacation home for their family. Both of us have family spread all over the United States and we wanted a place where our children and other family can come once a year to gather and reconnect. Kim is a 'military brat' who learned early on that 'home is where you hang your hat'. Having moved around from state to state and country to country during her childhood and most of her adult life, Kim wanted a permanent place to 'hang her hat', Roxy Park is that place. Jeff originally hails from Chicago and also moved around due to his father's job. He settled in Virginia over 20 years ago and has never looked back. Jeff fell in love with Smith Mountain Lake the first time he visited and convinced Kim that it was the perfect place to build a vacation home. He was right!

Kim is a novice stained glass artist and you will see several pieces of stained glass that she created in our home.

The Owner purchased this house in 2011

Why The Owner chose Goodview

Jeff wanted a vacation home at Smith Mountain Lake since the first time he visited the lake. Convincing Kim took a bit longer than he expected, but standing on this lot at dusk and watching the sun set across the water convinced them both that this was 'THE' spot. We originally designed the house on a napkin, then on graph paper, and finally had the plans professionally drawn up so that a builder could make our dream a reality. The home has surpassed our expectations and we never tire of that view.

What makes this house unique

Can't say enough about the view! The all glass front of the house allows us to take full advantage of the view from nearly every room in the house. The oversized dock is a family gathering place and allows us to all enjoy whatever it is we love to do best while being together. It's not uncommon to have sunbathing, fishing, book reading, canoeing, and jet skiing all going on from the dock at the same time!

Relaxing week!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our week at Roxy Park so much! They guys were able to fish about all day - everyday while us gals loved sunning on the upper deck! It was so nice to have a covered dock space to park our boat - something that's not found in most other rentals! The house is beautiful, well maintained and offered everything we needed to complete our family vacation. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay at your place! We hope to be back again sometime soon!

Home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time to stay at Roxy Park. We felt so comfortable with everything having been here before. It's some of the little things that make this place so special. A bottle of wine waiting on our arrival. A 3D television with glasses and 3D movies to watch. Wireless control of lights and fans. Motion sensing lights in the stairways. The upper deck down on the dock has furniture this year, making less to carry down to the lake. New furniture on the main deck replaced what is now down on the dock. Beyond the fully stocked kitchen , the fridge has plenty of condiments so you don't have to buy every little thing at the store. But ultimately, the great view, seclusion, waterfront location and the well maintained upscale accommodations is what had us coming back. And like last year, the owners are great to work with and quick to answer any questions.

Great vacation home

  • 5 of 5

This home is awesome, very comfortable with a great view of the lake. It is well stocked with linens, kitchen needs (top of the line appliances) and entertainment activities. The owners are very helpful in making your vacation a pleasant one.

The location is very close to sight-seeing locations and there are great restaurants nearby and in the neighboring towns. Try the Olde Liberty Station in Bedford for lunch or dinner, service and food were amazing. We would definitely recommend a stay at this home!!

Perfect Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

Private setting, beautiful views and a wonderful home (with great owners, I might add)! We stayed here this past July for a week and can't wait to go back again. Deep water at the dock (which is covered) and plenty of room at the dock to accomodate our 23' boat. The location is perfect, just off the main channel with views of the mountains and lake. Very quiet and peaceful, but plenty to do around the lake when you are ready to go out for the evening, whether going by boat or car. The layout of the house fit our family situation perfectly, with private bedrooms on the main level for each of our boys, and then a large, beautiful master suite on the second floor with reading/balcony area that gave my wife and I plenty of privacy and unobstructive views of the lake. It can be a bit tricky walking from the house to the dock, but its not terrible (we've had worse). Overall, great place that we'll visit again.

Birthday Celebration/Vacation at Roxy Park

  • 5 of 5

Roxy Park exceed our expectations. Spacious yet cozy. Secluded but not to far to grocery stores and other restaurants. Our group really enjoyed our stay there. The dock was perfect for housing our boat out of the weather. The views are amazing. The owners are very helpful. Highly recommend this home.

Beautiful place

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at this house. It exceeded our expectations and had every amenity we needed. It was clean and new with great decor. The owners were so helpful with any questions we had. The view from the decks were amazing while my husband enjoyed the fishing. The food store is close by and we enjoyed the smokehouse restaurant. We would definitely recommend staying at this home.
