Nestled at the foothills of the Alps of Provence, 'La Bastide de Prés Jolis' has been lovingly restored to capture the authenticity of the original Provençal Bastide architecture. Tasteful, period décor and brand new amenities blend harmoniously in a holiday setting where you can relax or entertain in the gracious style of a bygone era. 'Prés Jolis' invites you to fill the house for a family reunion or come as a smaller gathering: fees vary according to nightly, weekly or B&B arrangements. A caretaker is close by to insure your stay is flawless. Whatever your number, you will be spoiled for choice: ascend the elegant staircase and discover 9 luminous bedrooms, including 5 master bedrooms (30 sqm) with en-suite bathrooms. The large dining room seats 20, the comfortable living room is perfect for convivial gatherings, and a cosy den on the second floor is great for watching TV and playing games. The modern, well-equipped kitchen gives onto a lovely outdoor terrace for al fresco dining.
Garden: The house is set on a terraced hillside in a large landscaped garden (approximately 1 hectare) which is planted with centenarian plane trees. Plenty of shade when you want a rest from the Provencal sun!
The french doors from the kitchen open onto a sunny dining terrace with table and chairs, perfect for meals and BBQ's.
Around the back of the house you'll discover a traditional area for playing the Provencal game of 'Boules' and relaxing at aperitif hour.
Surroundings: You could easily remain days in a row on the grounds, enjoying a family gathering or a romantic/relaxing get-away. But you won't regret setting out to explore the richness of this stunning region, famed for breath taking landscapes and grandiose settings, steeped in the sights and smells of nature.
The sandy Mediterranean beaches are an easy day-trip (50min drive to Sainte Maxime), and you are a stone's throw from the celebrated lavender fields with their views of the pre-Alps in the distance. Another not-to-be-missed site for a day of spectacular scenery is the famous Grand Canyon du Verdon, reputed to be the deepest gorge in Europe.
Nearby, take a rest at the Lac de Sainte Croix, one of the largest freshwater lakes in France. It is a peaceful haven in the summer months with its quiet beaches, shady picnic area and free parking.
