Yalikavak is located on the south west coast of Turkey and positioned on the northern side of the Bodrum Peninsula where the Aegean and Mediterranean seas meet. It sits overlooking a large curving bay backed by wooded hills and a pretty fishing village that has not lost its tranquil atmosphere.
The main beach of Yalikavak, to the north, appears to stretch for miles, the water is clean and clear and most of the main bays have Blue Flag status.
The village is neat and very tidy, and some antiquated buildings have undergone some sensitive restoration and conversation to modern use.
As you reaches the bay, you will notice the ruins of three old white windmills on the hills, and these hills are also perfect for pleasant picnics and long walks, particularly in the spring when they are covered with a colourful carpet of beautiful flowers bursting newly into bloom.
Yalikavak impresses with its combination of alluring traditional charm and sense of contemporary style.
