Amazing cottage Amazing town

What a fantastic cottage for an epic family trip to the Emerald Isle! We could not have dreamt of a better place to stay on our vacation. The house is full of everything you would need and it is enhanced with it's charm and location. We felt like true Irishmen while staying at this cottage and it blew our expectations. The pictures do not do it justice on how massive this place is and how perfectly upkept it is.
Margie was terrific and very patient with us while we set up our initial meeting after landing. Our American phones were not working and a random kind local lent us his phone to call her and meet up. After a hour, a lot of twisting narrow roads we found Margie in the cute town of Bruff outside one of the many local pubs. We followed her to the house and got settled in. She had prepared homemade scones and muffins upon our arrival and had the fires burning in the wood stoves giving the house a true authentic feel.
Our time in Ireland was fantastic and all 2 weeks were ones we will cherish for the rest of our lives. The Dalton family would like to thank everyone in the town of Bruff and Margie for making this trip complete with offering the house for our stay.
*Note to future renters* Feed the cat that we named Mrs O'Leary. She is so nice and comes to visit every night from the next farm house over. We miss her already!!! & also, good luck finding the game room! They took it out and made another living room where it was located. I tell ya, my brothers and I were on a mission trying to find the secret door that would lead us too the pool table that is pictured above, lol.*

Quiet Irish stay

A very nice accommodation out of the way for a nice, relaxing holiday. We are a family of 6 and flew into Shannon and drove to Bruff. I was a little apprehensive of driving to a small town but we found it very charming. We stayed here and did day trips. Drove to Cliffs of Moher, Ring of Kerry, Bunratty Castle, Blarney Castle and the Swiss cottage. Lough Gurr is just around the corner. It was beautiful and reminds you of traditional Ireland. We stopped at a few of the old churches on the road and loved being a part of history. You may get lucky and have the friendly farmer who owns the land to the ceremonial circle come over and give you a historical tour. The house was very old but clean. The back yard garden had a wood deck where a little water from the lake could be seen. Margy was great. I did have a few concerns that came up with our stay to tell future guests. We met up at the church in Bruff. It worked out, but there are several churches in Bruff. I would have her be a little more specific on time and place. We also agreed on a time. Our cell phones didn't work in Ireland and we knocked on a strangers door to call her because she was 45 minutes late. She showed up and all was well but I can't tell you how it felt to be in an unknown country with little kids waiting to go somewhere you have never been. The cottage does not have a phone or internet. We went to a local restaurant for internet access and Bruff has an internet cafe. I thought there should be a phone (land line or cell) with emergancy numbers because it is in a remote area.

This is a old house but it game our trip to Ireland an authentic feel. We spent most of our time traveling and really came here to sleep. It was funny how the town closes down early. If you want groceries, you had better get in town before 4pm. The restaurants were good. We sat down at one table and they bring you a thick orange liquid in a bottle. After watching the locals, they diluted it with water for a sweet drink.

We made some fantastic memories here. Would I stay again, absolutely.

Ireland Cottage

The cottage is beautifully decorated and Margy is wonderful. The cottage is in a beautiful location and on a quite country road which we enjoyed running down each morning. Watching the cows out the front windows was nice and our kids enjoyed playing in the backyard. Margy filled the house with fresh flowers, cupcakes and Irish Soda Bread. The bed linens were fresh and clean. There was some areas that could have used more attention to cleaning. For the money, this was a great place to stay.

Our family of six, including four teenagers, had a wonderful stay at Margy and Jon's wonderful cottage. The cottage was very spacious and even included a game room which our teens loved! The bedrooms were all cozy and nicely decorated. Our hosts really went out of their way giving us all sorts of info about the surrounding areas of interest. They were very accommodating and gracious!
