4/5 Bedroom, 2 bathroom family home close to capitol

This home away from home is an oasis for the traveller that is passing through the capitol region or staying over an extended contract or holiday while commuting through the area. The home offers two spacious room with queen size beds and two smaller children/teen size rooms with single beds. The home has a pull out coach in the living room, a dinning room table that seats 6 to 8 in a cozy setting. The house has a gas stove and double oven that is adequate for quick cooking meals such as breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bathrooms both offer a stand up shower while one offers a tub. The backyard boasts over 20 fruit trees including grapefruit, limes, oranges, pears, and others as the season permits. The home was rebuilt in the late 1950's in a neighborhood of eclectic homes. As East Sacramento is a trend setting area, you will hear the light hum of the highway in the background while chickens clucking next door as you drink your cafe on the back patio. The home is best used for a touch place space or place to relax between site seeing trips or office meetings. The master bedroom that has a crib and a loft bed is also available for an additional fee and deposit. Lastly, we are open to hosting rehearsal dinners for weddings or other occasions. Please ask about our visual and performing artists as well as military and veteran's family discounts.

About Dr. Sherilene M. Chycoski

While receiving my Doctorate in Educational leadership from the University of Southern California (Fight on Trojans!!), my husband and I purchased our home in Sacramento while I was working as visual and performing arts administrator in the local school district. We have been at the house over the past several years when I work on contracts with the arts and school programs. As my husband who was retired internationally known trumpet player, he enjoyed the local shops and restaurants while I was working working at the local schools with students and teachers. Our home in Sacramento has since assisted me with raising our three children and our new addition. We are currently working on contracts outside of the country and we have decided to list our second 'home away from home' on this website.

We purchased this property as it has a fantastic central location which is close to all our activities which include the Community Center Theatre, Wells Fargo Pavillion, Capitol Building, Sacramento Ballet, Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra, Crocker Art Museum, Cal State Fair and Cal Expo as well as restaurants, shopping and great places for working in the fabulous 40s.

What makes this house unique

The large backyard on the double lot is what made us fall in love with this property. Who would of thought that you could find over 20 fruit trees in the middle of the city. While our guests and friends stay, we ask them to check and make sure that the sprinklers are working as the summers can get pretty hot in the capitol region.

This urban rustic home away from home is nestled on the edge of the fabulous 40's in East Sacramento that features a deep lot with over 20 fruit trees. The home is located steps from the light rail which offers easy no hassle access to the legislature and capitol buildings as well as the various medical centers including UC Davis Medical Center, Sutter and Mercy. The home is perfect for families with young children, young traveling couples, families with growing teens as well as couples or visitors visiting the capitol region. The fantastic location is close to popular restaurants as well as shopping at Trader Joes for those last minute items.

Great place to call a home sweet home away from home

As a retired military veteran with ties to CSUS it has been a great joy to stay often at this wonderful home. I am very honored to be writing the first review as I have been very satisfied with my stays over the past five years. The greatest asset to the property is how close it is to all the amenities in the area. I know that other travelers will enjoy this place as much as I do. Lastly, I know that you will love the large backyard right in the middle of the city as well as the comfy coaches in the living room where I have spent many a night relaxing after a long day at work or on the road.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway
