This luxury 2 bedroom/1 bath guest unit is located steps from Moonlight Beach and in the heart of Encinitas. Attached to a multimillion dollar home: this compact unit is on the second floor, is charming, well decorated, very comfortable, and has its own private entry. It is both private, with an orientation away from the main house, and in the midst of the active 'beach life'. Relax on the deck with spectacular views of Moonlight Beach and the ocean. There are beautiful granite counter tops, new appliances, stone and marble walk-in shower, full sized washer and dryer, three flat screen TVs and quality furnishings and linens. The living area contains a full size pull-out sofa bed. Deck includes a bar height table and chairs for dining, deck chairs for the morning coffee, a barbeque and is ideal for people-watching and enjoying the sunset. Private parking for two cars eliminates the hunt for parking at the beach.
Moonlight Beach is one of the most popular beaches in California and Encinitas has been named one of the 'World's 20 Best Surf Towns' by National Geographic. Moonlight Beach is very family friendly and with the recent renovation has new bathroom facilities and concessions. This guest unit is so close to the beach that if you forget anything or want to change clothes, you are just a couple of minutes from your vacation home.
Being on the south end of Moonlight Beach it is also ideally located only three to four blocks to the downtown shops, restaurants and the Coaster train service. Walking to and from a nice restaurant in the evening is a treat.
If you are looking for a comfortable place to relax and to spend time enjoying the weather, ocean and amenities of beautiful Encinitas then this is your spot. All amenities needed for your stay are included. Spend the day at the beach then enjoy the views from the deck while firing up the BBQ!
Encinitas is my hometown and I grew up in the home directly north of this property. My parents built their home on one lot and their patio on the other. They also planted the Star Pine tree in front of their home that has become an Encinitas landmark and is decorated every year. We built this home on the 'patio' lot in 1986 and raised our children here.
Kristine Price purchased this apartment in 1986
In 2012 we decided to renovate the guest unit to create a spot for the family to use for vacations. We redesigned the unit, put in quality materials and furnishings so that it would be a comfortable and fun environment for a beach stay for our family. It brings back fond memories to all who stay here.
The best benefit is the location - a combination of view and how close it is to the beach and the downtown area. Although compact in size it has been thoughtfully re-designed and renovated to make the best use of space.
We spent seven wonderful days in this Encinitas beach house. It was lovely inside, very clean, modern and well-appointed with all the amenities;comfortable beds, beach towels and beach toys, nice bathroom and kitchen. I had three teenaged boys with me and they were thrilled with the location because it a few blocks from 101 and steps the beach, they could walk everywhere they wanted to go, sit on the beach at night by the bonfires, surf, and hang out on the deck playing their guitars. I would highly recommend this rental.
This charming property is very well situated and offered us an ideal spot for exploring the beaches and the town of Encinitas. We stayed for Christmas and had everything that one might need for some home cooking and lazy relaxing. Many thanks to the owners for all the small incidental comforts included that made our stay so pleasant. I am hoping to return as I felt that after three weeks I had only seen a quarter of what this area of San Diego has to offer. My family especially enjoyed the laid back feel of the place and some great restaurants and bars. Great town and great people. Thanks for welcoming us.
This was a delightful place. When we arrived, we found soft music playing, a welcoming bottle of refreshment, a bowl of fresh fruit, and an immaculate condo with great beach views. The condo is small (700 sq ft), but we managed to serve dinner for eight one night with no problem. We spent a great deal of time enjoying the view from the deck.
I don't know if I'd recommend this for a large family, but for us, it was perfect! We fell in love with Moonlight Beach and hope to return next year.
We are residents of Encinitas, but we needed to relocate while remodeling our home. This was an amazing get away from the chaos:). The apartment is clean, beautifully decorated, meticuously maintained, and comes equipped w/all the comforts of home. It is located right on Moonlight Beach which is always a bustle with fun! The views from the deck are breath taking at all hours! It is also a few blocks from the adorable Coast HWY, downtown area of Encinitas; full of restaurants and shops. If that's not enough, and you are up for the downtown of San Diego, the train station is also a short walk away. This place is worth coming to over and over!
The location was great close to the beach and the shops and the coaster. The view was a nice added bonust as well. The owners are very informative, accomodatng and hospitable. The unit was recently remodeled and very clean. We will definitely stay there again and reccomend the unit to others.
I recently took my family here for the week of July 4th. We have two children, one who is twelve and one who is thirteen. Overall the condo was very comfortable for all four of us. The pictures posted help show you how wonderful it is to stay here. We all loved the short walk to the beach and up to the various local restaurants and stores. A quick walk to Whole Foods for groceries was very easy and we loved dinner at Union Kitchen and Tap. We also found it to be a great location, while still an easy drive to the zoo, Seaworld or La Jolla. Finally, Kristine was great! She was sweet enough to leave some cup cakes in the fridge for my daughter’s birthday and everything was better than she advertised. If you want a great spot to stay, while enjoying the beach and still able to get around San Diego this is the place for you. We hope to come back!
Must see in Encinitas is the San Diego Botanical Gardens (year-round). In nearby Carlsbad: the Carlsbad Flower Fields (spring-time) and Legoland. In San Diego: the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and Sea World. There are many other attractions- too many to list.
