We were unexpectedly in Panama for more time than expected and we were able to find this hidden gem. The location is excellent; the condo is clean and stocked with everything you could need to cook on your own; and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this property and the owner was very helpful, accommodating and easy to work with. We can't wait to go back!
Spent the weekend with family. It is a big appartment with very nice kitchen and basics. For extended stays would recommend shades or blinds because sunshine gets into bedrooms very early in the morning, specially during this time of year that is "summer" in Panama. It did not bother us because we are an active group. Would definitely return for weekend getaways.
We stayed at Rio Mar for a few days in January while in Panama visiting family. The apartment was really big! We had 6 people, and it could have easily fit 2 more and still would have had more than enough space. A TV would have been nice, but for only a few days it wasn't too big of an issue (there was no TV in the social area either). The apartment has most of the basics. Could use a few things (hand towels and dish rags, curtains, some decorations), but overall everything that you need is there. The grounds and beach were very nice, the pictures posted don't do it justice. We hung out at the pool a lot and we'd often have it to ourselves. Sometimes there would be a few other people there, mostly Canadians. It was a great pool area with 2 shallow pools for the kids in addition to the infinity pool! The beach was huge and went on for miles at low tide. We had it almost completely to ourselves. At high tide the ocean comes way up and the beach gets cut off by land, which was too bad for taking a morning run. My mother-in-law had a massage at the spa onsite and said that it was great. There are some good restaurants in both directions, and grocery stores and pharmacy in Coronado. It was both fun and relaxing and we would definitely stay there again!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Rio Mar. It was our first time in Panama, we spent a few days in Panama City and the rest of our 2 weeks at the Rio Mar. The place is exactly like the pictures. It was the first place we've stayed in without a TV. We didn't travel to Panama to watch TV anyway. The weather was great, the Ocean and pools were warm but very refreshing. You definetly want to rent a car to enjoy the area. Their place was easy to find, it would help if you speak some Spanish. None of the resort workers speak English. Many of the Resteraunts have someone that speak English but not all. It's about a hour and a half from the Panama City Aitport. Lots of traffic in the city, and they are crazy drivers.
We always had our choice of chairs around the pool anytime of day. There were no chairs at the beach, but there is plenty of room, and at low tide you can walk along ways.
We went golfing, took a couple of adventure trips from the Decameron about 30 minutes away. The unit itself was very nice but sparsely furnished. A dresser or something to put your close in would be nice in the Master Bedroom. The other bedrooms had mini closets.
My family and I rented the condo for a week in January. It was absolutely gorgeous, clean and well cared for. The view was breathtaking! In addition to all of this the staff at the resort was wonderful and attentive and the amenities available to us added so much to the relaxing nature of our stay. I will definitely be returning to this property! (Hopefully very soon!!)
