This was the first home we purchased as a young couple. One dog and three boys later, we outgrew our beloved, urban cottage. Unable to part with our fond memories of South Minneapolis, we felt compelled to share with others all the great things our community has to offer. We hope a stay in our house will leave you with fond memories, as well!
Chris Hultgren purchased this house in 2002
Location, location, location! All of the Twin Cities' best destinations are minutes away from Minneapolis and St. Paul Downtown, and is only less than 10 minutes away from everthing. You CAN NOT be more centrally located!
A central hub to all things Twin Cities!
I went to Minnesota for 2 weeks to work at the MLB All-Star Game and I was fortunate to rent this wonderful house! There were 3 of us staying and there was plenty of room for all of us to hang out and also have our own privacy too! It was in a quiet neighborhood with 2 very nice neighbors. Everything we could have asked for was in the house and we were close to everything. Within 5-10 minutes there were restaurants, fast food, home depot, target, a huge park and a quick convenience store. It only took us about 10-15 minutes to get into the city each day with no traffic jams occurring at all. We utilized the grill several times. We were able to kick back and feel like we were in our own home! Chris was a great Owner and a huge help with information before we even got to town! I would rent this place again if I make it back to Minnesota any time! Thanks!
We were pleased and satisfied. The listing description was accurate, and the house was what we expected. No surprises. The neighborhood was quiet and well maintained. The house was clean and well maintained. We were in town to assist with a family move, and the house provided a good respite from the moving chaos. The owner (Chris) was responsive and available for questions. However, everything was in order, and we had no problems or issues during our stay. The property had easy access to Hwy 62 and 35W.
I stayed in this house for 3 weeks while in transition between homes. I have two dogs who needed to transition with me and I didn't want to board them. Thankfully options like this exist! The house is cozy and has all of the amenities and household items you need to feel comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet, the parkway and Nokomis are close (perfect for runners), and the location couldn't have been more ideal for my needs. Chris was a pleasure to work with and made sure I was aware that he was available if I ever needed him (I never did - the house was in great shape and the instructions for the electronics/thermostat/wifi were clear). It was great to have this available!
Of all the things we did right on our vacation, renting this house definitely tops the list! We had 4 kids with us (ages 2, 3, 8 and 9) and being in a hotel with them would have been so stressful! With the house, we didn't have to worry about our noise disturbing others or having the kids awakened by noise from the hallway. The house was super quiet with plenty of space. I especially liked having two family rooms both with televisions. We didn't spend a ton of time watching television but it was nice to have more than one option.
The location was great for close access to the Mall of America and many other things in the area. There was also a lake very nearby with a nice beach, food and fun rentals. We visited family around the cities and it was nice to be able to go one direction one day and another direction the next while being in the middle.
I would definitely recommend renting this place if you're travelling with little kids or if you're looking for an alternative to a hotel. Not only was it much better suited to our needs, it was way less expensive than trying to find rooms for 6 people. We loved it!
Location is great, cute little neighborhood, a little close to some dodgier areas, but was a close walk to the lake and lots of Minnesota charm. Lots of updates and clearly they try hard for cleanliness. The screen porch is really just a musty room that you can't really use, and there are the persistent black ants that find their way in during really humid times. Overall it was great for the location and a quick visit to the .
It was a great stay. Centrally located, easy access to the different venues we needed to attend.
