After following a long beautiful wooded drive you will arrive at our three-story cottage overlooking pristine Starvation Lake. Step onto our covered porch and begin your relaxing vacation. Upon entering the cabin you will find yourself in a tree house setting, bright open floor plan, wood ceilings and a wall of windows overlooking beautiful Starvation Lake. This level includes a private bedroom with a king size bed, closets and a bathroom with a tub/shower. Down the hall a newly renovated, fully outfitted kitchen with stainless steel appliances and peninsula for eating awaits you. Or, you can dine at our large table overlooking the lake. Better yet...how about dining al fresco on the first floor deck with spectacular views. A homey living room complete with a wood burning fireplace, 42' flat screen TV, including cable, makes the first level a place you'll never want to leave.
Want some solitude? Choose the upstairs master bedroom, with a king size bed and private balcony overlooking the lake. Imagine yourself waking up to a serene view of the sun rising over the lake, while enjoying a cup of coffee. This floor also has a bedroom with a double bed and bathroom with a shower.
If you prefer the feel of the North, head down to our walkout level. You will find a rustic living room, bedroom with two full-sized beds, laundry, and bathroom with large shower. Walk out the sliding glass door onto our 1,800 square foot, three-level deck which leads to the beach and dock. This area offers plenty of space for family and friends to chat, read, eat, play, nap, relax and enjoy the views.
For your convenience we have a washer and dryer, baby pack-n-play, high chair, life jackets, beach towels, chairs and sand toys, on site.
Starvation Lake is a spring fed all-sports lake. Motorized crafts are allowed from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm. This give you plenty of time to play on the water and still sleep in or enjoy the peacefulness of the woods. Public access is located at the North end of the lake for easy launching of your boat or jet skis. Swim in the crystal clear lake; build sand castles on the beach, sun bathe or fish for brown trout off our 50' dock. At night sit around the beach fire pit and enjoy s'mores while gazing at the clear star-filled skies.
We are just minutes from the trails and seasonal roads where you can ride your snowmobiles, dirt bikes and 4-wheelers.
Are cities and great food your thing? We are centrally located between Bellaire/Shanty Creek, Lakes of the North, Boyne, Gaylord, Traverse City and Petoskey; you can even plan a day trip to Macinaw Island. Throughout the year, there are a variety of festivals, fairs and farmers markets in the area for you to enjoy.
