WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING LODGE-ONLY RESERVATIONS ON A LIMITED BASIS (Primarily off-season bookings; 2-day minimum for the Lodge.,

The Wellspring Retreat on the Little River will provide for you a quiet reprieve from the demands and rigors of daily life. The Retreat sleeps 26, sits on 20 acres with 1000 feet of frontage on the Little River, one of the best trout fishing stretches in the Smoky Mountain area. The grounds include two riverfront loft cabins, a beautiful Lodge with 5 BR, 5 ½ baths, and a rustic barn all behind a gate for your privacy.
Most of the 20 acres of the Retreat are cleared, but some portions are wooded. Feel free to explore the Upper, Central, and Riverfront meadows on the property for short hikes. You might want to walk across the pedestrian swinging bridge to dine at one of the local restaurants accessible by foot or ride bikes that you can rent locally or bring with you.
The Lodge sleeps 22 and offers a full kitchen, large living room gathering area, washer and dryer, and a recreation room equipped with a pool table, ping-pong table, and air hockey game. It also offers Wi-Fi internet access, 2 indoor and 1 outdoor fireplaces, grill, deep wrap-around porch with rocking chairs, and a large hot tub.
Each of the loft cabins rest on and overlook the Little River. Enjoy the peace and serenity of the flowing water as it dances and sparkles through the rocks. Each of the two riverfront cabins offer a king bed,, kitchen, and covered porches. It won't take you long to relax, and let your cares slip away.
We have a maximum of 26 in a party but that assumes that the group has about the same number of children as adults. As a result, about 90% of our reservations are families celebrating extended family reunions... The Wellspring Retreat is IDEAL for multigenerational family reunions! The other 10% of groups reserving the property have been corporate retreats and small couples' groups.

Over the years we have been fortunate to own other properties in the Smoky Mountains. However, none remotely compare to this property, it is our favorite. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and truly a special getaway. Few properties exist in the U.S. in which you can reserve a private retreat center which has 1000 of beautiful waterfront coming directly out of a national park. We hope that your time at the retreat will be full of rest, rejuvenation and peace. It is our privilege to share with you what God has blessed us with.
Renting the entire 20 acres of the 'Wellspring Retreat on the Little River' provides a unique opportunity just a few minutes away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The TWRA stocks rainbow and brown trout from the footbridge on our property. Smallmouth bass are also plentiful in the river.
The location of the Wellspring Retreat affords easy access to all of the entertainment of the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area while enjoying the privacy and peace and quiet of your immediate surroundings.
The beauty of the property itself, and the amenities included therein, provide for an experience and exceptional value like none other in the Smoky Mountain area.
Our family of 19 had a wonderful week at Wellspring Retreat. The setting is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. We found everything very clean and well maintained for everything we needed. The only thing we could have used more of was tea towels in the kitchen since we prepared all our own meals while there. The owners were very friendly and helpful. When we had trouble getting the grill to work, a handyman was promptly sent and when that still did not fix the problem, a brand new grill was sent the very same day. There was plenty for the grandchildren to do and the adults found the peaceful settings they needed. I would highly recommend this for all age groups.
Twenty-two members of our extended family were thrilled with our four-day reunion at Wellsprings. This property was clean, well-maintained, everything that was advertised, and more! The owners obviously believe in the concept of continuous improvement as evidenced by the recent addition of a small but innovative miniature golf course on one of the decks. There were five young children (ages 6 to 9) in our group and for them the house was as exciting as a Disneyland castle. They loved playing hide and seek on the various floors and balconies in the house. The owners were very cordial and helpful and we highly recommend this property to other people.
We were blessed to have stayed at the Well Spring Retreat. The room we stayed in was very spacious, even for our family with 4 littles. The game room kept our group playing for hours and the lodge as the perfect size for us. Some of us enjoyed the porch fireplace, while others enjoyed the inside fireplace. Those who stayed in the river side cabins loved them as well. Some of us made a fun walk over to the Townsend Railroad Museum and others grabbed a bite to eat at neighboring restaurants. I would definitely recommend this property and would welcome a chance to stay there again. Thank you!
The Wellspring Retreat is comfortable and spacious enough to fit our entire clan of 21! And, having so many bathrooms was a real blessing! The kitchen was large enough to accommodate several industrious cooks! Having two large dinner tables allowed everyone to gather for meals! Everyone took turns in the game room playing pool, air hockey, and other games. The location is breathtaking! Many took advantage of the close access to Smoky Mountain Park. The hosts provided abundant firewood and met other special needs with grace! We loved this place!
.This was a fabulous place for a group of women that graduated from high school in 1956. Everything we needed was there for us. Lots of "talking" and "rocking" on the porches and of course the large living room area. Plenty of space and good sleeping accommodations. We walked across the swinging bridge to Miss Lilly's for a dinner. Would recommend this site for groups, families, etc. What you see in the site pictures are accurate. Close/convenient to Knoxville and airport.
There is so much I would like to say about Wellspring Retreat. First of all, the pics just don't do it justice. There is a lovely foyer, a carpeted spiral staircase to all floors in the main lodge. The fireplaces inside and out were both used the whole time. Spacious bathrooms, beautiful wood- it was lovely!!
I am super picky about linens and they were absolutely scrumptious! The entire place was incredibly clean and well stocked for every need. The small cabins were so cute and were perfect for snorers or those who needed quiet to retire early- did I mention we had 30 family members all together for the first time in years??t
Steve was an amazingly kind and accommodating host. We had a minor glitch with a fuse and he came up twice to make sure we were all squared away.
Many places we had looked at had no main gathering area, or not enough table space. The large open great room was perfect for large meals and even for an impromptu service Sunday morning.
We were together to attend a family wedding in a town close by, so we couldn't do much else in the area. But there was so much to do and just enjoying the property we left feeling that we should return for a week next time.
The kitchen is a little small, but we planned meals that didn't need a lot of counter space prep and it was absolutely no problem for us.
When we packed up the cars and gave a mllion goodbye hugs, we looked back at the Lodge with great fondness -so many family memories.
We will be back.
