House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 8-12)

La Dolce Vita is the perfect home for a family getaway. One hundred feet of beautiful frontage on all-sports Long Lake with 3 Bedroom/2 Bathroom with amazing lake views from every bedroom. Two bedrooms include queen-size beds. A king-size bed is in the master bedroom. All mattresses are new along with new bedding and linens. Extra beds include: a double bed in the loft of the master (great for older children or teens) accessed by a ladder, a queen size sofa bed in the living room and a full size futon sofa bed upstairs.

The home includes a very large living room with a lovely wood burning fireplace and expansive windows showcasing the beautiful water views. Cable TV with movie channels and DVRs, are in every bedroom and the living room. There is a DVD/VHS player in the living room with a video and book library, plus board games for rainy day or evening fun. The full kitchen includes all major appliances, including dishwasher, pots and pans, spices, small appliances and everything you’ll need for the convenience of cooking a meal at home. La Dolce Vita also includes a Washer and Dryer. Enjoy the indoor hot tub for an evening soak. Children’s tub toys and water wings included.

Enjoy swimming, boating and fishing just outside the door! An expansive deck with deck furniture and outdoor dining table is terrific for a BBQ lunch or dinner on the natural gas grill. A fire pit and sitting area is located close to the water for making smores under the stars. The water is shallow at the shore with a hard bottom and the 120 foot dock provides a ladder to swim in the deeper water. A Peddle Boat and life vests are included. Two kayaks with paddles and life vests are available for an additional rental fee for the week. Ask about our wonderful pontoon boat, that is also available for your use for the week at an additional charge. The sandy-bottom lake and sand bars provide excellent swimming spots. There are a variety of fish for afternoon family fishing fun: bluegill, bass, panfish, pike, muskie, walleye and perch. Boat to the connecting smaller lakes, Ruth Lake and Mickey Lake and the four islands. Three parks are very close to the home, with volleyball, basketball, walking track, and tennis courts available. The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy allows public access to South Island in Long Lake and the Carter-Strong Bird Sanctuary on Ruth Lake.

It is an easy ten minute drive to downtown Traverse City or Interlochen Arts Academy. 15 minutes away from shopping, golfing, museums, beaches, and numerous restaurants. A 30 minute drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes, casinos and downhill skiing. Visiting Moomer’s Ice Cream is a must, just a five minute drive to 120 flavors, overlooking the dairy farm.

No Smoking. Saturday to Saturday rental for summer.

We purchased this home because we love the area and life on the lake and someday hope this will be our retirement home. I grew up in the area, and after living and teaching in the Detroit area for fifteen years, am very glad I made the move back to Northern Michigan.

This home is perfect for a family vacation. It is in a quiet neighborhood on the lake, yet so close to the conveniece of Traverse City. We started using VRBO after the birth of our daughter. We found it was much easier for us to vacation with a baby/small child when we had a full kitchen, laundry facility and our own private, quiet space. We hope other families will enjoy the Traverse City area and the amenities of our lake house.

What makes this house unique

We love the indoor hot tub and fireplace. Every night, after dinner, we make smores and have a dip in the hot tub before we go to bed. Our daughter thinks it is a special way to end the day...making memories.

We had such a wonderful vacation. The house was more than we expected. It was almost hard to leave for sightseeing. The house is charming and relaxing, with it's gorgeous lake views and cozy atmosphere. We had a fire in the fireplace at night and the owners left us s'more fixings! How thoughtful. Great music selection for the cd player. The towels felt brand new. The hot tub was fabulous! They even had toiletries (like a hotel) in the bathrooms. TVs/DVRs in all the rooms was a plus. We cooked at the house a few days and my husband loved the grill, while I was excited to use the Calphalon pans. We also ordered a delicious dinner to-go from a great store, just down the road, called Fieldstone. Fabulous area. Can't wait to go back in the summer months. I'd recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
