2 Bedroom House, Open Layout, Peaceful

Zilker House is a charming 1930’s cottage which has been completely restored. The house has a large claw foot soaking tub, open layout and vintage modern furnishings. Within easy walking distance of a dozen restaurants and a short bike ride from Barton Springs, South Congress, Downtown and Lady Bird Lake the house is very well situated for all Austin has to offer. There is one off street parking spot available in the shared driveway and lots of street parking. We also have a pair of loaner cruiser bikes for guests to use.

With two bedrooms the house fits 4 people. One bedroom has a queen bed and one has a full bed. An inflatable full bed available upon request and the sofa is very cozy. Each bed has high thread count linens and ample pillows. We also have a roll away crib and a high chair if you are traveling a baby.

The kitchen is a chefs dream with a dual fuel stove, full sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave, warming drawer, coffee maker, and a tea kettle. Lots of dishes, glasses, pots and pans are also available. For your convenience we provide complimentary coffee, tea, and fresh fruit.

Unwind in the glorious vintage 6 foot claw foot tub with shower surround. The hot water is on demand so feel free to luxuriate before wrapping up in one of our fluffy towels. The house has a washer/dryer if you need to freshen your clothes during your stay.

The living room is equipped with a cable TV (we have HBO), wifi, and lots of magazines.

The owner and property manager lives in a house at the rear of the property, but they have a separate entrance and yard. Close by if you need something, but far enough away to give you as much privacy as you want.

Visited Austin from NYC for a girl's getaway. The Zilker House is perfectly located! About a 10-15 drive from the airport and plenty to do within walking distance (Mary provides a book filled with things to do and restaurants in the area). It's only a short drive or bike ride to South Congress Ave and downtown Austin. The house was bright and sunny, very clean and comfortable...loved the décor! Enjoyed my morning coffee sitting outside in the front yard. It's a very nice place to come back to after long days of exploring the city!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
