Why Mary Anderson chose Savannah
Aside from the unique charm of this carriage house, it has what vacationers are looking for in its location meaning they can just walk out the door and be in the middle of the 'tourist attractions' of downtown Savannah. Lucky for us the tourist attractions are mainly beautiful outdoor areas like Forsyth Park (one block south of this house) and the gorgeous Squares throughout downtown in addition to the standout architecture and history found at almost every building you walk past.
What makes this house unique
For a one bedroom property this accommodation feels like (and truly is) a 'real house'. No shared walls. Great romantic getaway.
Guestbook comments from the manager
We found this property on VRBO. This made my 3rd trip to Savannah and my husband's first. The property is very convenient. We walked out the back gate and were in Forsyth Park. The River Walk is .8 miles--not far at all. There is a small organic grocery store up the street (at the grassy end of Forsyth) along with a coffee shop. We had breakfast/coffee there and bought some items from the store. We also ate at the Gallery Espresso and Leopold's Ice Cream. Both are very close. We visited the City Market and had lunch there. The property is not far from Tybee Island--go down Liberty and get on the Island Expressway. The property itself is perfect for a couple. We stayed in the loft area for most of the visit--t.v., balcony, bathroom. There was plenty of storage if we wanted to unload your clothes. There is an iron, ironing board (did not use) and a hair dryer. We loved the little kitchen even though we ate out. The shower was perfect and the water was hot. We are thinking about purchasing a similar shower head for our home. The bed is a memory foam and we liked the firmness. The communication before we arrived was excellent! It was a great trip. This is a great property for the price! My only suggestion and it is a suggestion, not a complaint is to provide toiletries--maybe travel size shampoo and conditioner. Soap was provided.
