4 Bedroom 2 Bathroom Grand Historic Home In The Victorian District

A beautifully renovated Victorian house in Downtown Savannah! Private/designated free parking for 2 vehicles! Additional free street parking is also plentiful. Just 2 blocks to Forsyth Park and 1.4 miles to River Street! This spacious house is a great choice for up to 11 people.

Sleeping arrangements consist of 4 private bedrooms on the upper level PLUS a Queen size pullout sofa bed in the Living Room downstairs and rollaway twin bed. NEW upgraded bed sizes as of Feb 2014! We now have a King size in the master bedroom.

There are 2 full bathrooms in the home, both conveniently placed for use by any members of your party. One located upstairs off the laundry room and one downstairs off the kitchen.

This historic house is on Henry Street in between Abercorn and Lincoln Streets just two and a half blocks south of Savannah’s enchanting Forsyth Park. The parade route on St. Patrick's Day literally starts here! Wake up to the bagpipes and watch the floats prepare in the staging area!

Recently restored, with 2239 square feet of space, this townhome among “Margaret Strous Row” has a formal living room, separate dining room, a breakfast room, 2 full baths with claw foot tubs, 3 bedrooms, a “trunk” room as a 4th bedroom and an expansive laundry room on the bedroom level (upstairs) with large capacity washer/dryer. Classic Savannah porches on the upper and lower level of the home extend provide ample outdoor space for your enjoyment.

A luxurious remodeled kitchen is fully stocked and has ample room for 2+ cooks to work together without stepping on one another's toes. French doors lead to the exterior porch overlooking the private courtyard. A true historic gem, this home features many of the home’s original historical architectural details including refinished heart pine floors, claw foot tubs, plaster moldings, decorative plaster ceiling medallions, and 4 beautiful hand-marbleized slate mantles. Recent upgrades include home-automated lighting systems and zoned Puron central heating and air systems.

Additional amenities include a grassy courtyard with privacy fence and 2 private parking spaces (3 compact cars may fit in the private parking area or 2 standard/large vehicles). Additional vehicles may be parked on-street as well.

We love our guests and want them to have a fabulous time. It is important to note that in Downtown Savannah the homes are very close together and full time residents do live next to the vacation rental homes. In order to respect your neighbors we ask for 'quiet hours' after 10pm. This simply means turn down your music and refrain from shouting, etc. Remember when you are on the porches you can be heard very well by the surrounding residents. This was the perfect house for my sister's birthday/bachelorette party! We had a large group of girls and we were very happy to find this home was spacious, clean and anything we needed was there. The private parking was convenient and we walked all over town all day long. We took a taxi van home from River Street at night. I hope to be back when it's my bachelorette party!

I booked this house for a bachelorette party, and it was perfect! Lots of space so we never felt cramped (11 of us). We were also blessed with perfect spring weather, so we walked to lunch along the water and to dinner (Leoci's). Great weekend!

Wonderful property

This property is as exactly as pictured on the website. My entire family spent the week of Christmas 2013 in the house. Excellent location for walking to the park and to River Street. Older home but everything you need is there. The owners were gracious enough to decorate the house for Christmas. We brought our own artificial tree which the grand kids decorated. We had four grandchildren and seven adults in the house, which gave us more than enough space. I recommend staying in this house to anyone.

Last Minute Getaway

We stayed in this home as a last minute winter getaway to escape some bad weather. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. This house was bigger than we needed for our party of 4 but we absolutely loved it. The photos show the home very accurately. It was very clean and well maintained. We had everything we needed. Mary was helpful/reachable making the reservation and during our stay. We tried several of her suggestions including dining at The Mansion hotel which was amazing. We also met the owners briefly upon arrival and they were incredibly sweet, hospitable and eager to help us. This was our first time using VRBO and we felt like everything was so easy and exceeded our expectations. We will recommend this rental to friends and we would definitely stay here again. We officially love Savannah.

The property needed to be better maintained. Specifically, the bathroom knobs, the tubs, drains and latches were not functioning. The floor was sticky and needed to be cleaned several times. The location was within driving distance to downtown but there was nothing in the immediate neighbourhood to see or do. On the positive side, the individual managing the property was responsive to the sticky floor issue, and generally pleasant to deal with. On the whole I would not recommend this facility to friends or relatives.

Owner's Response: Im thankful for the positive comments in regard to how responsive I was and available to this party's many needs and questions. A guest's experience in the home is equally important to me and the owners who are very involved in making their home an enjoyable place to stay while visiting Savannah. I would like to assure future guests that bath fixtures are in perfect working order. This Victorian home was built in 1891 and maintains the vintage charm in the baths with the original claw-foot tubs and glass and porcelain doorknobs. The owners evaluate the the home between every stay when possible with their own high-level of quality control and found all the fixtures in working order. They did find someone in this party had unscrewed the 'pop-up' drain which has embossed letters "open" and "close" to indicate where to push to retain water for a tub bath. I have never had other questions about the drains before, but to avoid any future confusion for our international guests, I will add a helpful note in the guest book regarding the pop-up drain. Being only 2 blocks from city's famed Forsyth Park (the large central Historic District park with the often photographed iconic fountain), I am surprised the group was unable to find things to do. The house is a stone's throw from some of the best restaurants, shops and events in the city. Additionally, we have a notebook inside the home with a multitude of suggestions for activities nearby. I am committed to giving the same level of attention to all guests and the homeowners will continue to maintain the property superbly as indicated by the many previous excellent reviews.

The house was beautiful and exactly as it was represented. Easy access and a great location! I can't say enough about how great Mary was to work with. She is a gem, and this was our best VRBO experience to date. You can't go wrong with Savannah, this property, or anything that Mary is managing. We had some jewelry left behind and Mary had it in the mail to us same day! We will be back.
